Whenever I post a message with BOINC my signature reads: 'Invalid user CPID'. What does this mean, and how do I remedy it?

Hi Viearus,
CPID means cross project identification(number). Perhaps you've entered a transposed number or something when you tried to get your stat box.

Thank you very, very, much; you saved my bacon. I thought the problem was insoluble, and asked seti more out of curiosity, since BOINCstats is virtually uncontactable, apparently. Am I wrong about this? Anyway, thanks again, and check out my profile - any publicity is . . . .

I had to update my CPID too. For some reason it changed when they came back up from the multi-day outage three weeks ago. I also changed my registered e-mail addy at about the same time, so I'm not sure which event caused the CPID change. Did you also change your addy, or did your problem coincide with the long outage too?

I had two seti accounts, which was confusing BOINCstats. I changed my name, but that didn't solve the problem. Until now . . . .

Hi Clay, the email address is hashed with your cross project ID so if you change your email address your CPID will change as well. If all your projects were synchronised before you changed your email address then they will all succcesfully change to the new CPID without a need for your core client to connect as they use the same alogrithm to do the hash; so long as you change your email to the same one at all the project sites.

After I changed my email address BOINC stats did not work for my total BOINC stats until I searched on my user name and got the link to the new id that BOINC stats uses.

I'm having the same problems as most everyone else, regarding 'not being able to U/L WU's and Validations, also'.

But more than this problem, I see a 'problem of a different type!' A problem of a "Negative Rating Goon Squad", who don't even read the Posts of a certain Cruncher, but look for 'His Posts', (by name), and just give it a 'Negative Rating!'

What's up with that? I read both of his Posts..., and there was Nothing in either one to even suggest a 'Negative' Rating! It seems like the approx 12 People who deem themselves as Critic's, should go over their 'Own Inventory!'

Have we resorted to 'Grade School Tactics', where Popularity, great looking Cloths, many G/F's, seems to get all the 'Pluses', you don't even need to be Smart! Or..., is it a Question of 'How many Boxes he has', and the Credits, (approx 630K, and RAC, approx 9200), that is luring you to that "-" Mark Rating!? (That sounds like Jealousy at this Point)!

I've only been at SETI '7 Years', (this May), so maybe I'm not getting it! =)
I've also just been at BOINC for 14+ Months, and have given just '1' '-' Mark. All the rest have been 'Pluses!' His post's are (1), on "This" topic, and (1) over at:

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=29293#267878

I have known him for over 4+ years, and he's a Stand-up guy, who would Help anyone having Problems, and has helped Much on the Classic 'Boards, also!

So, I'll just keep donating my Little '1K of Credits per day', w/my '2' Boxes, and hope, perhaps, something is Found with them!

*Gets down off Soap Box* ..., lol!

-daav- ";^)

Thank you, Appetiser. I had a hunch something like that was going on, but with the outage happening at the same time, I wasn't sure.

And thank you, daav, for speaking your mind. I appreciate your support.

Okay, guys. Time for another famous, or infamous, "Palomar Jack Rant".

This kind of behavior by these childish little turds demands redicule, and I shall delite in handing it out. First, because I could care less if they give me a demerit, tisk-tisk or what ever they think it is. Second, because I already covered what they are, besides self proclaimed peace keepers. There's another word for it I just made up, "Litera-Nazies". Due to their pitiful intellect, I'll explain for them, that's a contraction of Literature and Nazi. They don't have the fortitude to confront those they don't agree with, so they do this stupid act. Same as the actual Nazies and Klanspeople, that hide under sheets and in the dark because they're, C O W A R D S. In this case, they hide behind anonymity.

Well I don't, you "mental migits" have a problem with that? Tough.

Ah, much better now.

And last, Congradulations to SETI.USA and SETI.Germany for being the first teams ever for a 500,000 RAC. WAY TO ROCK!

And now, back to our scheduled programming.
