why are there so few addon's for the Mac? Is there something in the works for S@H, an addon that would show
more detailed info...,i.e. spikes triplets...etc. I know the science is different. I used to run Linux, now even Linux has more addon's than Mac.
Go figure.....

Well there are those programmers that don't like macs, and there are those non-programmers that do like macs ;D

They are all waiting on you to create them.. The addons are made by regular people, not the SETI/Boinc team(s). So when you are ready to make them, they will exist. I am guessing there are probably alot more people running *nix and winbloze than there are macs, therefore, alot more people willing to do things for those OSes.

Getting an add on is serious security risk. Can't do it or else it would open the macs up to viruses and malicious addware. :) But that won't matter now that mac is converting to IBM. hahaha. They'll be just as vulnerable.

This HAS to be the single most clueless response I've read on these boards, ever. Even from ksnash or angus or azwoody. This moron thinks the Mac is converting _to_ IBM? Sorry bozo, they're converting _from_ IBM to Intel. And what the processor has to do with security and vulnerability is beyond me. Congratulations, you are the FIRST person to actually be stupid and obnoxious enough to make my "ignore" list. Even ksnash can be amusing at times.

Considering that X11 was included with Mac OS X specifically so that programmers could port their software easily, I blame laziness on the Linux programmers and the near-monopoly of Wintel-user influence.

just my two cents

You know as well as I do that for most folks IBM is used interchangeably with PC.

He wasn't referring to the manufacturer of the processor that the Mac's will be using but rather to the fact that Apple is now moving to the platform that traces it's roots back to the first IBM home machines.

It wasn't THAT long ago that non-IBM PC's were referred to as IBM "compatible" or "clones".
