Hi there

I saw that someone out there has compiled a special seticruncher for windows based on Naparst, Crunch3r s libraries with caching..

That person has a P4 3.2 Ghz with amazing crunch times and i do believe it's this special optimized versions to thank , that computers RAC is around 1050 credits for what it seem a regular HT based system .. Spec below..

"<core_client_version>5.3.1</core_client_version>
<stderr_txt>
Windows optimized S@H application by truXoft
Improvements by Tetsuji Maverick Rai, Hans Dorn, Harold Naparst, Ned Slider, Crunch3r, trux,...
$URL: http://boinc.truxoft.com $
$Rev: hn-126/tx-004 $
$Date: 2005-11-01 00:47 +0100 $
cache calculated 40 times

</stderr_txt>"

If someone knows where to download this version i would be happy to try it out or even if there are AMD specific compilations for windows too that i don't know about...

Kind Regards.

Vyper

Sorry to disappoint you, but I guess you're looking at the output of the linux client.
Harold's binary seems to print out a comment line that came in with some changes made by truXoft.

Did you check the host's OS? You might post the host ID if you like.

Regards Hans

I don't know which machine Vyper is looking at but Crunch3r is running the trux Windows port of the linux client.

2800 seconds for a recently completed WU

Not bad at all :)

I understand that the trux version has not been released because it has a few problems yet.

This was previously discussed in this thread

I'm testing my own build Windows version of a caching client right now.
Hopefully it works. It's running against the reference wu right now while i'm typing this.

Woohoo! I hope it works. Let me know if you need a tester. :)

BTW - is your A64 3200+ stock or overclocked?

i think it is good to have a Client which does a WU in 45 Minutes on an Athlon64 3.200+, like the old peace of software..

Fingers crossed

Sir Ulli

I was eyeballing your completion times the other day. I was wondering where you got this client.

<core_client_version>5.2.7</core_client_version>
<stderr_txt>
Windows optimized S@H application by truXoft
Improvements by Tetsuji Maverick Rai, Hans Dorn, Harold Naparst, Ned Slider, Crunch3r, trux,...
Rev: 4.13.hn000.tx000 (p4_sse2) Fri Nov 04 22:41:21 2005
cache calculated 53 times

</stderr_txt>

It looks fast.

P.S. It's on your 3.2GHz machine.

Hello,

If someone is interested in processing times of my client look here.

This is only the SSE version running on a A64 3200+(@2.2GHz).

Hi,

We all like fast crunch times I guess.
However as I look at the results list of this computer I also see a lot of work units with the following "Client error Computing".
I thought the object was to return as much valid results as possible ?
Maybe the optimized client needs some more optimizing ?

Regards,

Rob.

I guess that's why Cruncher didn't release this client yet ;)

No. The errors you see there came from trux client.

Mine gave no errors.

You can see that in the logs.

This one belongs to the trux version
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=156254722

And this one to my client.

Are you going to release this client to the public then?
Just curious.

Windows users are suffering a lot these days...
But heck, they could always run a linux guest along with an optimized client inside a VMWare-Player session. I bet this would be faster than running a windows client.
