It would appear the next version for today is out the one change in this one is

Link to 5.2.11
Changes since 5.2.10
Wizards cannot be run without a connection to the core client.

It doesn't look as though they have posted the link to 5.2.11 yet on to the reccommended download page although they have posted what the change is from 5.2.10 must just be an oversight on the developers

WOW! I never saw anything on 8,9, or 10. Guess that happens when you are down with the flu!

Sorry you got the flu but you would have missed it if you had only a short nap, Rom posted all three in about 12 hours. They are mainly to overcome registration/attaching problems for the rush of people from classic.

In that case i'm guessing it would be a good idea to wait until they get things under control before up grading. So i'll stay in a holding pattern with 5.2.6

Difference between 5.2.10 and 5.2.11:

If Boinc manager can't connect with the daemon and when trying to attach, a message comes up asking to go to "File\\select computer" and fill in "localhost" as computer name. This will generate a password automatically and will connect Boinc Manager to the daemon. After that using the "attach to project" will launch the attach wizard automatically.

Using the same method as described helps with 5.2.10 as well.

Theres no need to upgrade if your client works fine as there are no differances in it apart from the fixes for the connection error

A new day, a new version. What a perfect way to confuse the newcomers.

The newcomers are the reason we have got the latest version there were errors connecting to BOINC they have been fixed in the latest releases and 5.2.11 should solve all the new comers problems of connecting to the server.

It wont exactly confuse them as if they go to the download page there will be the latest client and the 4.45 client so its not like they have loads of versions to chose from just hit the reccommended download link and all should be fine connecting to BOINC.

Rom & the others worked hard today to get these bugs fixed and I congratulate them on doing all that work in the space of 12 hrs

If that happens then so be it, the client needs to be continually modified at the moment and at least now more users are coming along it is showing up some bugs that wouldn't have been seen before.

It may be bad for the new users but at least they now have a BOINC Version that will connect to the servers now.

You guys are right...I think existing users who have not had connection problems should sit tight.

If so: Cool!

That's good then. :)

Anyone think we can expect a few more? The answer may save us dial-uppers an hour or so.

I'd give it a few days yet you don't need to download it if you are currently able to contact the servers.
