Dog-
We are looking right now toward the onslaught of HOLY WEEK
There will be many young people vomiting in the street
But hopfully not too much property damage
It's a fun time for all
Today I unloaded 500 cases of beer in prepararation
The truck will be back in the morning with the rest
The water service has already quit
And we expect the power to go down before the Resurection
2000 live here yearround
We expect 150,000 for a week
Go somewhere else....cc

Then you must be in bliss, 100% of the time.

Oh, by the way. What is it with that stupid graphic you display in your posts? It has nothing whatsoever to do with SETI or other BOINC projects. Are you trying to impress people, with your ignorance, in display their IP address without permission? What are you doing with it, tracking IP addresses? You best not be tracking mine. I haven't permitted my IP address to be displayed, let alone tracked, by you. Are you trying to hack into peoples PCs? You won't get into mine, if that's what you're trying to do. Good luck trying....

Hahahahah.....

Siran, I am afraid I must inform you that your public IP address is well known (and if the sysadmin has half a brain it is logged as well) to every server your browser hits. This includes not only the server hosting this forum (setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu) but also the server(s) hosting all the graphics on the page. It is the way the internet works. He doesn't need your permission to log, track, or otherwise display this information. You, after all, accessed his system by requesting that graphic first. To him, that information IS public.

Don't worry. That information (the IP address) is only visible to the person that loads that graphic. Everyone gets their own addr. It is harmless, but merely annoying. If it bugs you this much, disable loading off-site graphics if your browser supports such a function, or all graphics otherwise, when reading these forums. And you may as well do the same on every other internet site that you visit, for they ALL do it. Use some logic, and don't let your pointy-eared paranoia get the better of you! ;-)

Speaking of ignorance, why is my user ID the very first in your ignore list when it is obvious you are reading every post I make?

Could it be your are a typical christian and not capable of making your actions reflect your statements?

So he is a typical christian and not capable of making his statements reflect his actions.

Thanks for your input, but I believe the man is not only capable of responding for himself, but vastly more intelligent than you.

Notice his (and everyone elses) ability to not respond to questions which have not been directed at him (them). As adults, we call that self-control.

Now I realize with an obsessive/compulsive disorder you find it extremely difficult to practice the fine art of self-control, but there are medications you can take for that. Admitting you have a problem is the first step.

I beg to differ with you, adamantly! He DOES need my persmission to "log, track, or otherwise display...." my IP address. Public or not, he has NO right displaying my IP address anywhere. If I go to my "Computer summary" page here, the top item is where my IP address would be displayed. Instead, it is asking my permission to display it. The only place[s] that display my IP address are sites I use for testing my connection speed and such and that is to verify that the test is for the proper IP address. I want you to give me one valid reason for HIM to "log, track, or otherwise display...." my IP address. My IP address is for the purpose of the Internet, not his demented purpose.

60% of the fun, in these fora, is viewing the wide array of graphics that are posted. 99.999% of those graphics I view, I have no problem with simply because they are amusing and/or informative. HIS graphic is, in my opinion, inappropriate. The stats in it don't even have anything whatsoever to do with SETI or other BOINC projects. No one asked him to show a graphic that displays their IP address. I would not do it out of respect for my fellow postees [except for HE who deserves no respect, because he respects no one else].

BTW, who asked you to chime in and tell me what for anyway? >:-|

If you comprehend as much as you say, and say that others do not, you would see that the numbers are in numeric order. Your number happens to be the lowest on my list, hence, the first on my list. You should be honored to be the first! And, by the way, you are the only ignored, on my list, still spewing your poison in these fora. I have not seen a post from any of the others in quite some time. Maybe you should follow their lead.

I have to read you pathetic posts because some here reply to you without quoting what they are replying to. I need to read your post to keep the continuity flowing, hence, to comprehend what the other postee means.

Okay BrainSmashR, here is another way to look at what I've been trying to say:

Luke 23: 39-43:

One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him , saying, "Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!" But the other rebuked him saying, "Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justify; for we are recieving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong." And he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come in your kingly power." And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."

He wasn't a Christian either.

So would 'diagnostic' mean there's two of them?

I guess you could say diagnostics instead of two agnostics Murasaki. Or hey, why not triagnostics for three, and so on.
