I see I',m not the only one with power probs. I woke up in hell this morning. half my house has no power... all pcs and tv where down. I checked the breaker box. Seems one of the tranformers on that leg went out while I was sleeping.

NASA's Terra satellite, circling the globe for five years, keeps a watchful eye on Earth's "vital signs" and has documented Earth's changing landmasses, surface temperature, oceans, clouds and atmosphere. Five onboard instruments collect data and also snap some spectacular sights. A new interactive tour highlights some of the spectacular sights the mission snaps as it helps scientists track changes to our home planet.

did you check this out: [url=http://terraserver.microsoft.com/]TerraServer<a>
I had fun with this at one time. I have pix of my house and my neighbors. I also liked to set a pic or customer's homes as a desktop with a few added comments.
Thankfully they were understanding. it was all just for fun.

NASA offers cash for new space ideas

WASHINGTON – In an effort to stimulate fresh thinking, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration has announced that it will offer cash prizes for innovative technology that can be applied to space exploration.

The competitions, open to large and small companies, colleges, technology groups and individuals, are seen as ways to promote innovation by letting contestants pose any solution that works to solve a problem, an agency official said Friday.

The prizes are a new approach for NASA in its effort to find new space technology.

The program, part of President Bush's new vision of exploration for the space agency, was inspired in part by last year's Ansari X Prize of $10 million for the first private piloted suborbital flights and in part by the incentive programs that have long been sponsored by the Pentagon's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

Prizes will range from $1,000 to $10,000.

I punched in my town and it dropped me right in the middle of the town. I then traced the roads to my house.
It was really wierd and spooky at the same time to see my house and yard from a satallite.
I imaged some pervert at the central PC zooming in on the boobs at all the parties we used to have.
Around the same time there was talk in the media that Saddam had also used these privately owned satelite for intel gathering.

if too many people looked for boobs...they would have to re-name the satellite..."BOOBSAT"...might be a new source for MISFIT'S "babe of the day".

I'll take "get back on the bicycle and ride" for $1000 Alex (tribek).
What is fire that baby up!!!!

I 1st read of NASa doing this for others to help solve the problems that occured. Solve the tile prob,,,solve the hole in the wing prob...etc. It is good to here that they keeping it up. I think that there are many companies and very smart students and scientist out there that could help.
To me it is like NASA goin' open source for research and ideas.

Sorry, you can only use the Titsat from Patriot Games. But hey, that one was good enough for Jack Ryan to identify the terrorist woman from her breast size.
