I had a tablet crunching and possibly the cpu went. Battery is charged. Try to turn it on and the start up screen shows for a second and the tablet shuts down.

My Android Oreo equipped phone has a 1.09MHz SnapDragon quad core cpu(does both GSM or CDMA and it has a sim card too), I just use it as a phone, a camera and/or sometimes for net access.

Since It is a Lifeline phone, replacing it is not something I want to do anytime soon.

Being a fairly new phone it is probably running Android 8 or 9, neither of which play ball with BOINC & SETI so the best thing is not to try.

It's 8.1.0, the FCC only cleared it from what little I could find and read back around Jan 2019, it's very new, a 4G LTE phone w/2 cameras and yep Bluetooth, it has a 5 inch screen(cpu id says 3 inch and is wrong, I used a tape measure), a 1.9mp camera for selfies and a 5mp for everything else, it has flash and can block annoying phone calls from the OS itself. It's a UMX U683CL phone. It likes to use power so I keep a charging cable nearby 24/7 as I like to use it for an mp3 player in My car, now if only the Y cable for 12v power that powers up My bluetooth to FM adapter would stop ejecting itself or the adapter like a cigarette lighter would... The phones speaker doesn't sound like the best since on some calls it's hard to tell what the other caller says, but that could be the lack of a really good cell phone tower nearby(the Sprint network carries Assurance Wireless which is aimed more at the nearby fwy than here), the nearest tower is up on a tall mountain behind the park up in the Calico Mountains, those closer to the mountains probably live in a cell zone shadow. In other locations everything sounds better. I can even use the flash as a flashlight or torch without an app. And typing is easier than on My previous and now cracked phone, the UMX is a replacement, the cost was $5.00 total, I finally have a cover for the phone, though I may have to adapt an existing screen protector for it since there are none made for the phone yet. There's a larger 1300x811 image if one wants to see the FCC image I just found, just click on the pic.

TGIF
Search Thrift Stores, FB marketplace, or craigslist. You can get a fairly decent used cruncher for under $100.

Message 2005446 - Posted: 3 Aug 2019, 3:22:42 UTC

I sent a complaint over the internet to the cpuc over an electric bill being too high, 581kwh last month for $74.47 and 1,039kwh for $136.15 and yet I have nothing here that generate 458kwh currently, a difference of $61.68, a 6000 btu a/c unit sits on My sofa that is still not installed and 2 people who work for the park have said they'd install it for about a month, so far nothing has changed on the installation. They were supposed to be here today from 4-6pm and once again nothing. I included 4 pics, 2 rent bills and the 2 a/c units. I'd received the rent bill today on Aug 2nd and it's due by the 5th, otherwise they say there is a $45 penalty for being late, the office is always closed on a weekend, the manager is rarely in the office and I called both Her office number and her personal number that everyone here is told to call. And the temps have not changed since last month, they're still hot outside.

For Me that would be literally, at 12yrs old I could not keep up at 7000' on a hike into the San Gorgonio Wilderness and so I had to be sent back to camp down at a lower elevation, at almost sea level I could keep up.

Police Dept issues Parking Tickets, fines to be paid in Cat Food...

In an effort to help the Muncie Animal Care and Services Shelter, the Muncie Police Department asked violators to pay their parking tickets in cat food.

The request came after a couple of officers toured the shelter and found that it was running short on supplies to care for over 350 cats and kittens.

"If you have a $25 parking ticket, you can bring up to $25 worth of cat food or litter to the Clerk's Office, and you can get your parking ticket to go away with the exchange of the donation," Officer Jamie Brown said on a July 15 video shared by the police department on Facebook.

Although the offer covered drivers with multiple parking tickets, it did not include handicap parking violations or any violation that would have to run through the court system or state, according to the Facebook post.
