If someone with AIDS gets pneumonia and dies, do you think the cause of death has nothing to do with AIDS? it's the same thing here.

well it would probably say cause of death - pneumonia with AIDS as a major contributing factor. which as I understand it is the same kind of thing they are doing so that they can track how many lives are impacted and track the spread and extent of damage done. when you see a statistic saying X number of deaths, they aren't saying that person died directly from COVID, but that COVID was a contributing factor in their death. it's still important to report those numbers. and they do the exact same reporting for the Flu. only a small number of Flu deaths are DIRECTLY from the flu virus itself, and mostly because it exacerbated an underlying condition.

1. That's very true.
2. I don't think any politicians, and that actually no one has a full handle on the figures. How can they/we know those? We don't know the figures. Even epidemiologists can't tell that because there are so many unknown variables.

Of course it's about the location. The problem is that so many people are taking care of just one elderly people. I know my mother who is now 90 that have at least 10 people taking care of her. Coming to her place, that is not really a care home, about 5 times every day and night. What's obvious is that Sweden don't test the personal enough and that we don't have PPE enough...
As for my mother's location otherwise. It's not a place were viruses spread easily.

That's why I look at sites like https://www.ft.com/content/a26fbf7e-48f8-11ea-aeb3-955839e06441 that show the difference in deaths for this year compared to the average for the last few years.

Norway looks good. Might going there. Det er kjempefint:)

However, looking at the listed percentages... Rather interesting.

Israel can be excused for their good result as a beneficial side effect to their unfortunate political surroundings...

However... What is the story/cultural aspects that have given Denmark such a comparatively favourable result?...


And what is the story behind the other favourable results?

Denmark? But they are very much closer to the horrible infected Sweden then Norway. Only about 30 minutes drive from Malmö to Copenhagen on the "Broen". Closed bridge? Sort of:)

Based on my work in China a large number of Chinese had multiple phones, typically one for work, one for family plus one for "other activities" - it was nothing unusual to see three of phones in front of someone in a a meeting and them to have another in a pocket/handbag/briefcase. Now if one or more of those phones was not exactly legal then I can quite see how they would quietly get rid of them by turning them off and pulling the battery before chucking them in a pile of trash....

Now if one or more of those phones was not exactly legal then I can quite see how they would quietly get rid of them by turning them off and pulling the battery before chucking them in a pile of trash....

As Chinese cell phone accounts are tied directly to the owners bank account, it should be possible to ascertain if activity in those bank accounts also ceased............but then again getting accurate data from China on any subject is about as possible as seeing a chicken with teeth.................

My guess it's the same in all countries that have nursing homes for elderly.
Here at one facility in Stockholm one third of residents died, I think it was 38, in the same day...

They are also only meant to have one phone, plus may have one provided by their employer, but they get round that, so don't be too sure that they don't get around the need to link their phones to an individual bank account.....
As to getting accurate figures out of China, well they do keep accurate records of life & death, but do they publish them? Answer: Only when it suits the current Party line.
