Message 1916961 - Posted: 4 Feb 2018, 23:45:50 UTC - in response to Message 1916866.

And some people claim to have seen a Chicken with Teeth.......

I gotta say Glenn, you got guts going down with the ship like this.

DPRK is busily changing stolen Bitcoins for US Dollars, and about a billion other thieves are scheming to get the rest.....

Heheheh well mate you Americans think your men folk breed big boys , wink wink sa no more ......

But down under the men folk have even bigger ones .....:)

Plus we are a country of punters (gamblers hence the fact we have more pokie machines than any other place on earth and there everywhere )
( pokie machine = 1 arm bandits = slot machine)

Na i really do believe that Bit coin will take over no matter how the old guard money supply feel about it . Like the attempt to use one of the oldest ways to crash a markets ......THE FUTURES MARKET.

Attacking only 1 coin Bit coin and then assuming that by crashing that the whole market will collapse is very stupid and shows that DAVOS have no understanding of the rules of crypto and Consensus .

Bit Coin does have some inherent problems , high cost of transactions compered to others and scaling .

So the old guard may find that it's ok for Bitcoin to fail there are others already there to take it's place ergo Bit Coin Cash , Ether, Dash ............

Also people will learn that the futures market has noting to actually do with buying or selling Bitcoin . I Also think some of the exchanges will stop using certain Indexes . I say these things as it's just one of the possible things going on , There is already talk of letting Bit coin fail and changing what is pegged to what . (Consensus in action)

Regulation is no barrier and will make Bitcoin more acceptable to governments and people using it as a currency

Bit Coin will change the world it just may take another 10 yrs to be full on mainstream until then there will be a bit of push back and pull back from both sides and that means if your smart you can make a few bucks on the volatility.

Just keep up with the news on Bit coin and other coins and with luck you'll do ok and earn a few bucks to help you out even if you Don't become rich .

Free money is my motto , thank god for tech and allowing us all to be really be free.

shan't be long before some governments make possession of block-chain conclusive evidence of criminal activity.

Gary i thought you where smarter than that mate

Block Chains are now being used in all sorts of ways and there not all being used as a currency for public use

It's being used to encrypt all sorts of info , for internal payment within entities like the South Australian Electricity so i can't see what your saying will happen .

Here in Australia you can not trade any Bit coin or Alt coin anonymously . If you do you can and will be charged with money laundering . All exchanges here require you to prove who you are before trading .

So this means it can be traced . There is a misconception that Bit coin is all ways anonymous well it's not and you can track or leave a paper trail .

When the world catches up and legislates Bit coin as it is being done here then Fat Kim would not be able to sell his coin . There are already laws in place even in America to track or freeze accounts so Gary you need to learn more about what is going on as it's happening quickly in the Bit coin world

hence why some governments will use it as conclusive evidence of criminal activity - they insist upon being able to snoop into everything

Gary you do know what a audit is don't you the I.R.S do them all the time and if you don't have the papaer work to explain where you got the money and why you did not pay your taxes you go to jail .

Bit coin is no different just as i have had to explain where i get mine from and once i showed them i mine them they could not say a thing as i got then legally

As for the stock market , well if you thought you where safe putting your money there then i guess someone can explain what is and has happened in the last few days

"DOW FALLS 1100 points Biggest 1 day fall in 7 years" Headline on CNN News

mmm wonder how Trump feels about now he can't say the Dow is at record high and it because on me .

10 years of printing money was always going to come back a bite you all. Effects of just printing money is

Higher Interest rates witch may lead to hyper inflation crashing of the $ , job losses .

Greed all ways bites you on the rear end and using old outdated ways to try to fix things only backfires as it always has .

Lets see how bad things get and then we will see what people turn to if the $ crashes.... I know a currency that may take it's place as it can't be used in the old ways anybody know what i'm talking about ?????:)

Glenn why are you focused on tax IRS, STA, HMRC, FTS, ATO and many many others. That is the tax side. They can do a lifestyle audit if they need. Governments are far far more interested in money laundering. They want to know who gave you the money, and who you are giving it to, not just that you properly paid tax on it. They want independent proof, that you don't know if they checked, that it isn't proceeds of a crime or being used to commit a crime or for terrorism. Perhaps your Island doesn't have a smuggling problem, the rest of the world does. Paper currency carries a logistics problem and it can be found when it crosses an international border. Bank wire services create a paper trail. If you aren't doing anything illegal, you can leave a paper trail, if you are doing illegal stuff, you don't want leave a paper trail. Not hard for a government to say if you use bitcoin/blockchain you must be up to something criminal. Not any different that outlawing "unbreakable" cryptography or using a VPN or TOR. The government will know everything about everybody or they put you in a cage. Its 1984!

Not a headline because that's the way all Ponzi schemes end.

I would much rather take a correction of 7-10 % on a 38 % gain and still hold a stake in the growing American economy than take a possibly 100% loss and be holding............?

I'm not worried i think regulation of the Bitcoin world is a good thing . As for banning Block chain it won't be a simple as that . The worst that may happen is they may ban the coins that are true annomous like DASH or ZEC . Most people will have a online wallet anyway and only keep 1 wallet and that will most likley be Bitcoin or one of the forked coins like Bit Coin cash .

If your computer has the block chain of any type then it's useless without the wallet . Also because Bit Coins Block Chain is over 128 gig now you can't store to many on your system without having mass amounts of disc space so i don't see people downloading a Block chain s unless they are actually using that coin and seeing as most will only be using 1 coin Bitcoin

There is also the fact that some coins will rely on other Block chains like a lot of the new Tokens that use Ether witch is a true Turing-complete virtual machine, currency so just banning all Block Chains will cause a big problem in ways that may not be intended so i dought what you say will happen .

Crypto is complicated for newbees to get a understanding of . Not that people would need to know all the inns and outs to use it

Umm 2 weeks mmm try going on 5-6 weeks and still at $8000 so no crash only a correction

New York stock exchange fell just over 10 % in 1 week and it's probably not yet stopped falling .So 40-50% fall in bitcoin over a month would work out at about 10% per week mmmmm i wonder what other place that has happened to , want to take a guess

So are you going to fire Trump from a cannon as that is what he said if the market was to fall 1000 points on anyone's watch .

Oh right i guess he has come up with some reason he shouldn't be fired from a cannon or is he going to say it's all FAKE NEWS the DOW hasn't fallen 1000 points

Did you know Reagan gave you lot a bigger tax cut than Trump is going to give you and under Obama there where more jobs created in the same time he was in office compared to trump
And to think Obama had a finical crisis to fix that if i remember correct was because of the lack of oversight from the republicans , oh scratch that because of the biggest con job on the world by Republican types in causing the GFC

:) Kepp telling them story's mate someone might believe you i'm shore

Why do you think a piece of paper with the words promissory note printed on it is any better than a flash drive with a Block chain and wallet on it

1: you can't keep a copy of that piece of paper (money)
2: It has no real value as it only promises to be worth what is printed on it
3:The real value of that piece of paper has been diluted so much that it only has a value of about 1% to what it was worth in 1930
4: It can be forged and stolen very easiy
5: You really don't understand money

Now reasons that flash drive will be worth more than that piece of paper

1: You can copy it and keep it safer than a piece of paper
2: Will continue to increase in value and not be diluted by smart alex so called bankers it's called scarcity that piece of paper can be printed till there is no more trees, no scarcity with that and why it's now diluted so much
3: It can't be forged or stolen as easily as that piece of paper
4: It will enable more freedom than that piece of paper
5: You can hold a billion bucks on that Flash drive in your smallest pocket, you would need a Road train to carry that much paper money around
6: It doesn't take days to get your money like it does with paper if you ask the bank to give you a million bucks and close your account as you don't even need a bank .

So you hang on to the piece of paper keep it in a air tight place that is fire proof held in a heavy large expensive Vault or strong box that's going to cost a small fortune to install in your house or you can buy a Flash drive for next to nothing these days hell you can buy 1/2 dozen and still be in front on cash compared to that vault your gona need and still have enough to shout a round to all your friends down the pub , or be a dinosaurs and go out with a bang or a ostrich and put your head in the sand and hope the danger passes good luck mate!

In case you missed it i did say the market may fall another 40% but i wasn't only talking Bitcoin :)

So long as your careful and take a long term view .

Land also has it problems so don't buy where it floods even if only once in 100 years as the council maps may not be up to date

Not shore about America but over my way land prices have been going backward . Even land can be over priced so good luck and keep your loans low as interest rates will go up . Moneys owed has to be paid back and your Treasury is owed lots of interest let alone the actual loans

American "shore" land prices generally have been going up. Inner city land prices have crashed in some places and in gentrified places gone up. Many suburban settings saw a big crash in the "meltdown" but others never stopped going up. Now the issue is, are the prices going up faster than inflation. Because of inflation all prices need to go up just to stay the same buying power. As they say in the real estate business, location, location, location.

Land at least has the possibility of generating income as you can let it out. Gold, platinum, silver and bitcoin have no possibility of ever generating income; they can only sit and hedge against inflation.

I saw my Ed Jones guy today, re-balanced the portfolio dumping two under performing ETFs and doubling down on defense and healthcare sectors. Left everything else including bonds where they are. I believe we may see another 5% downside then choppy growth from there.

The economy is too strong for this drop to be anything other than profit taking and adjusting for rising interest. The Fed unwinding will bounce the 10 Year to higher yields and create prime rates around 2006 levels. Still a good overall increase in value despite the correction. I heard a finance 'talking head' today postulate some of the US(and World if you look), market decline could be sellers covering speculation losses in BitCoin.........who knows?

As to land and property, that's my best return asset. The home I purchased in 1992 has appreciated 472%. Not living large but comfortable in retirement. I limit my 'speculation' to 1ea Powerball and MegaMillions ticket twice a week.

Same here, retired blue collar in '06, purchased in '92 and mine has appreciated 310%. I too cashed out some profit and have pushed in another direction.

Cryptojacking usually targets PC or mobile devices to illicitly mine for cryptocurrency. Now attackers have been caught mining off the back of something even more dangerous: an industrial control system.
https://www.wired.com/story/cryptojacking-critical-infrastructure/
On Thursday, the critical infrastructure security firm Radiflow announced that it had discovered cryptocurrency mining malware in the operational technology network (which does monitoring and control) of a water utility in Europe—the first known instance of mining malware being used against an industrial control system.
