@ Clyde

There has not been willingness for intelligent exchange on this thread in a year, therefore my frequent, extensive, and continued use of memes which usually carry as much intellectual content as necessary for this venue....i.e.

Sounds very much like socialist state idea to me.

Roughly 80% of all voters say U.S. needs secure borders, including 68% of Democrats: Harvard poll
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/jan/23/roughly-80-of-all-voters-say-us-needs-secure-borde/?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=socialnetwork&fbclid=IwAR1R85uREQWgr7HSobdkEyCiZ0NtwNprsiGEDR04lECTwwNKt_RYQp8tk9w
The findings reveal, for example, that eight out of 10 of all U.S. voters — 79 percent — say the U.S. needs secure borders; 93 percent of Republicans, 80 percent of independents and 68 percent of Democrats agree with that.
Another 79 percent of voters overall say immigration priorities should be granted on a person’s “ability to contribute to America”; 87 percent of Republicans, 79 percent of independents and 72 percent of Democrats agree.
In addition, 61 percent overall say U.S. border security is inadequate; 84 percent of Republicans, 64 percent of independents and 40 percent of Democrats agree.

Another 54 percent overall support building a combination physical and electronic barrier between the U.S. and Mexico; 85 percent of Republicans, 54 percent of independents and 30 percent of Democrats agree.

A border is secure when you don't need a fence.

Wall, fences, moats and the like are illusions of security.

Hmm. I would say 100% of anyone living in a country want a secure border.
Not only voters that The Washington Times polled.
Building a wall as Trump wants is however not securing the border.
Why doesn't Trump listen to his advisers?
Oh. They got fired...

Also people who build walls either have something to hide or want to hide from something.

Trump tweet, 6:36 AM - 20 Nov 2014, https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/535441553079431168
Repubs must not allow Pres Obama to subvert the Constitution of the US for his own benefit & because he is unable to negotiate w/ Congress.

Take Jay Sekulow, Trump’s personal lawyer. In April 2016, in a brief to the supreme court attacking Obama’s unilateral expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (Daca) program, Sekulow painted Obama as a despot.

Echoing James Madison, founding father and fourth president, Sekulow thundered that the “accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive and judiciary, in the same hands … may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny”. He also compared Obama and his executive order to Harry Truman’s unconstitutional seizure of America’s steel mills during the Korean war.

There is also Noel Francisco, now Trump’s solicitor general, the man charged with representing the government before the supreme court. In the Obama years, as a private litigator, he successfully contended that the president could not thwart the Senate’s power to approve presidential nominations by resorting to the “recess appointment” process when Congress was actually in session.

“As much as presidents may desire an escape-hatch from Senate confirmation, the constitution does not provide one”, Francisco wrote. Channeling his inner Cicero, he added that the separation of powers between the president and Congress “protects against the abuse of power” that “is critical to preserving liberty”.

Completing this tableau, Sekulow and his client, then House speaker John Boehner, sided with Francisco. As for Senator Mitch McConnell and 44 of his Republican colleagues, they accused Obama of seeking to “usurp” their powers.

Apparently, McConnell has since found the 30 pieces of silver that were just right for him. On Thursday, the Senate majority leader threw his weight behind the president, announcing on the floor: “I’m going to support the national emergency declaration.”

Earlier this month, McConnell voiced his opposition to Trump invoking emergency powers. Time flies.

Trump's emergency declaration is unconstitutional – ask his lawyers

Moats? Had to check that out...
The term economic moat, popularized by Warren Buffett, refers to a business' ability to maintain competitive advantages over its competitors in order to protect its long-term profits and market share from competing firms. Just like a medieval castle, the moat serves to protect those inside the fortress and their riches from outsiders.
LOL.

So in your opinion if the US goes socialist, it is going to end up like Cuba, China or even Venezuela.
When actually the aim might be to become more like the Nordic countries with a lack of government interference in business affairs, have no minimum wage rules, have unions that negotiate wages, have good schools and health programs. And the workers are generally healthier, have good incomes and probably more importantly, rated as being happier than US citizens.
Even Trump the Stable Genius from Karlstad like our Nordic "socialist" countries. As for Sweden we are "special" partners to the US. Hmm. I wonder what he means by "special" though.
In the book "Trump: Art of the deal", which came in 1987, Donald Trump claimed that his family was from Karlstad in Värmland, NRK reports.
In fact, Donald Trump's grandfather Frederick Trump emigrated to the United States from Kallstadt in Bavaria that is now part of Germany , something Donald Trump then had to admit in 1990. According to other foreign media, he in the same book claims that Karlstad planned a museum dedicated to him.
Sorry Trump. There will be no museums dedicated to you in any Nordic country!
Or in Bavaria for that matter because his grandfather was forced to leave the country not wanting do his military service there.
Maybe to "Buzz" Aldrin though who's grandfather actually came from Värmland not so far away from Karlstad.

What a clown he is. Who voted for him to be the President of the USA?

The 47 most outrageous lines from Trump's wild national emergency declaration.

It does keep his violent red cap mushrooms fed, but...

‘I didn’t need to do this’: How Trump may have sabotaged himself over national emergency.

Isn't that called shooting 1's self in the foot?

Trump accuses key Russia probe officials of planning ‘illegal and treasonous’ behaviour.

Well he is the expert in these types of matters, isn't he?

And while Trump's allies get set for fierce fight over emergency declaration at least 13 states suing over Trump's national emergency and that number could grow.

Well seeing as v2.0 can't have a real war he's looking to expand his trade war.

Trump gives China 'one last chance', car tariffs next.

That will really be well received by all those U.S. farmers that are being driven to the wall now under the current tariffs, not, but they'll be joined soon enough by other workers in the auto industry.

Here's how much your next car could cost if Trump auto tariffs go through.

Which will mean that less people over there will be able to afford a new car. Less new cars sold means more workers being out of work.

How stupid and blind can some people actually be?

1. "We have a lot of great announcements having to do with Syria and our success with the eradication of the caliphate. And that'll be announced over the next 24 hours."
We are still waiting for the great announcement "our success with the eradication of the caliphate".
Jeeze! How stupid can a person get? And he is the President of the USA!
Who voted for him?
And according to him Socialism is DYING - and liberty, prosperity, and democracy are being REBORN...
