Whether your family Thanksgiving this year conjures up Norman Rockwell images or Norman Bates images, here's hoping that your turkey is juicy, your football team is victorious and all your autumnal cocktails are industrial strength!

Thanks Angela, Me I just have to drive 100 miles, then 100 miles to go back home, it used to be 45 miles, then 45 miles, My relatives moved recently, I'm glad I had the foresight to have cruise control installed on this car, the car was prewired for a lot of stuff, including electric windows, which I could still get off of ebay, but hand cranks use no electrical power, and they'll do. Though if I ever get a different car it'll have electric windows, since hand cranks aren't made anymore.

I'll be spending the day with my parents' ghosts, and that's fine because spirits are pretty low-maintenance guests.

Eric and I are going on a four hour, traffic packed road trip, with my 92 year old aunt, to the home of a sister-in-law who thinks that lemon zest is a laundry detergent, Hollandaise is a cruise line and a mandoline should come with sheet music.

But hey, the important thing is that family gets together, right???!!!

I have a 4 to 4.5 hour trip to see my relatives. Thanksgiving Day is a toss up for now. Maybe I will go out to a restraunt for dinner. Depends on which day my Grandmother is buried.

The UK has the Harvest Festival which is basically the equivalent sort of thing. It is usually held on the first Sunday nearest to the Harvest Moon in the Autumn equinox. It is not a national Holiday as it is in the States. It's all about just giving thanks for the hopefully a good harvest after a years work and a good excuse to pig out and drink.

Exactly!!! We basically followed their example. But over here there is much more of a charitable sense to it. All the displays of fruit and food in local churches and schools go to needy people, and specific collections of food are usually held which are then given to local charities which help the homeless and those in need.

Thanksgiving

Trump is about the biggest turkey going at the moment, anyone fancy pardoning him?

Meow!
A kitty keeps loneliness away.
More meowing, less hissing. I speak meow, do you?

Have made friends in this life.
Most were cats.
