Winning despite (or for) not reading most of the posts since my last. Many Giant Steps were taken during the production of this motion picture. However, none for mankind. [edit - Did you know it was Hercules who put Excalibur into the rock, 1,000 years before Arthur pulled it out?] David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Winning despite (or for) not reading most of the posts since my last. Excalibur was NOT the sword in the stone; however. (Myth upon Myth...) The sword that Arthur pulls from the stone is another sword. Excalibur comes to Arthur from the Lady in the Lake; and upon his death, goes back to the Lady in the Lake. The Sword in the Stone. So many Arther stories. I think I have over 20 versions. The Sword in the Stone was published in 1938 and written by TH White. It is losely based on the original Arthur story Le Morte d'Arthur written in 1485 by Thomas Malory. In Le Morte Excalibur is both the sword in the stone and given to Arthur by the lady of the lake. He makes no effort to reconcile the conflict. So you are both right. Good night. |

Lol. |
