What would you do to insure he doesn't kill millions of innocents?

Give me a friggin' break. There is no assurance of anything in this one.

If Kim shoots at us or our friends first we will blow him and his off the face of the earth and take what comes after that. Our history shows that. Har
+1
And Mr Mercer cuts directly to the core.

There........are..........no...........assurances.............period.

Stop pissing him off might be a good first step. A second might be the realization that there are some things even the mighty USA can't control.

If the only tool you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail. Cops only tool is violence, so ... . I thought tRump wasn't going to be the world's police officer?!

This is not being the world's policeman, it's the classic distraction policy to disguise what a w*nker he is.

And the worrying thing is this: -
-[ snip ]-

China has also publically stated that if North Korea is attacked 1st, they'll interfere, if North Korea attacks the USA 1st, they will remain neutral.

-[snip ]-

Stop laughing Sirius

Yep! That sounds about right! If WE are attacked, the rest of the world sits back and watches what we will do instead of "Hey, is there anything we can do to help?". But when the rest of you are attacked, WE are the first to be asked for help. It figures!!!

We tried to remain neutral during WWII, until Japan decided to drag us in. Then we had to fight on 2 fronts: against Japan and help defend Europe from the Germans.

My $0.02 worth. YMMV of course.

United States Secretary of State Tillerson, in Rare High-Level Acknowledgment, Says U.S. Is in Direct Contact With North Korea
https://www.wsj.com/articles/tillerson-in-rare-high-level-acknowledgment-says-u-s-is-in-direct-contact-with-north-korea-1506787266

What?
The US have NO direct contact with NK.
Rex Tillerson must be dreaming.
I know a country though that have that.
Hint. The country is spelled with a S in the beginning.

In Pyongyang!

The Wall Street Journal article references more than one channel.

You have to be a subscriber to read WSJ.
This is what I can read.
BEIJING—The U.S. is in direct contact with North Korea, “probing” to see if Pyongyang is willing to engage in talks despite tensions that remain overheated, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said.
Mr. Tillerson said Saturday that the U.S. has “a couple, three” channels through which it directly engages with the North Korean government to see if substantive discussions are possible.
“We are probing. Stay tuned,” Mr. Tillerson...

At least get it right Siran. Britain has never asked you for help in those wars. What we did ask for, we paid for. However, I seem to recall that you asked for our help with your middle east affairs. As for your 2nd front in Europe, again we did not ask for that (even though it was most welcome). The USA decided themselves that Europe was in their best economic interests to sort it out 1st before Japan.

First of all, I was not alive until a few years after the end of WWII. So yeah, you're correct, Britain never asked ME for any help. And, I never asked anyone for help with the Middle East either. :P

It does seem that Prime Minister Churchill was hell bent on getting the U.S. into the war. Yes, we started supplying weapons, planes, ships, etc. And yes the cost was high. Nothing comes cheap. The U.S. cannot be blamed for getting reimbursed for the goods.

LOL

WWI mothballs. Actually it was 53. Of the original 50, 7 went to Canada's RCN. Due to being laid up for so long many had numerous defects so you lent us 10 newer ships (10 years younger than the "stuff" you sent). Destroyers for Bases Agreement, you still have bases here :-)

@Siran, quite agree that payments must be made. Unfortunately, whenever debate about WWII crops up & that "item" enters play, it begs a "most serious question" for that "Special Relationship": -

How is it that "our ally" made us pay in full yet give a 60% reduction to both Germany & Japan on their war debts?

After Ping Pong II gets knocked off & NK devastated, ARE you going to give another "enemy" a large discount to enable the country to be rebuilt?

With the United Nations imposing yet another round of sanctions on North Korea for its nuclear provocations, it's worth asking why such penalties have been failing for more than a decade. One reason is that the North Korean economy is improving more than is commonly understood -- and that will make altering its behavior through trade barriers significantly harder.

It is easy to understand how consumers of faux news fail to see what is right if front of them, that's how wars start, deliberate ignorance of the truth.

It's been known for years that NK has been supplying small arms to countries and terrorists for years. And now Egypt has been caught with it's hands in the honey pot.
A North Korean ship was seized off Egypt with a huge cache of weapons destined for a surprising buyer

•Trump Warns: "Maybe It Is The Calm Before The Storm"•

President Trump met with his senior military staff and said they would discuss ISIS, Iran, and North Korea over dinner -- then at a group photo with his staff and their spouses, he suggested we were living in "the calm before the storm," without an explanation.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2017/10/06/trump_warns_maybe_it_is_the_calm_before_the_storm.html

That video clip of him popping off is really a sadly ridiculous way for a world leader to present himself.
The mind is a weird and mysterious place
