I don't believe Trump supports those who abuse their power or sexually abuse or intimidate anyone, female or male. I do believe Trump and what he and his Press Secretary has stated repeatedly...."the issue should be decided by the People of Alabama". I do believe he supports the Conservative Republican in the contest.

Like it or not, that's the way this Democracy works. Only the constituents can decide or judge the worthiness of an individual to represent them. There is apparently good reason to believe the stories being told about Moore, but the 'News' outlets have so discredited themselves by their nevertrump coverage that those capable of individual thought also have good reason to doubt the veracity of anything they disseminate.

Fact: Moore has never been charged with any related offense. This may or may not mean anything, but the standard of justice in the USA is 'Innocent until PROVEN guilty'. Again like it or not.

A Business Person is not held to the high moral and ethical standards of, let's say, a Teacher of young students.

Why are there two (or more) sets of moral standards? Is it because some people don't want to have to abide by them - real morals - so they create a set they feel won't hold back their immorality? Precisely the issue with the people defending Mr. Moore.

Not available online yet, but on KNX in depth today* they had some discussion with Kareem Abdul Jabar about how women are treated. Interesting his comments, one point being that when a team doesn't do well the coach starts with "Okay you ladies" as if being female is second class and intended to denigrate your play. Also his comments about how you treat people in sport, something akin does you photo belong in the display case with Jackie Joiner, Flo Jo, Jackie Robinson, or does your photo belong on a poster in the Post Office. Forgive the inexact remembrance but I was driving on the Arroyo Seco Parkway while listening.

These allegations were brought out over a year ago in the height of the election. And were apparently discounted by enough voters for Trump to win.

The reason they were largely discounted and the allegations against Moore are being discounted by his supporters are the same. No complaint was made at the time of the occurrence. This is a real problem in society today. If a woman or a man for that matter feel they are being sexually predated they should speak immediately and LOUDLY.

Sexual predators are by nature cowards and cowards run from the light and attention. If the allegations against Moore or Trump or Weinstein or Rose or Franken had been publicly made known at the time we wouldn't be having these scandals and calls for retribution today.

In these days of 'empowerment' women and men must realize they are only victims if they allow it to happen. Speak up, shout it out! Remaining silent only encourages the slimy predators.

I admit to, as Jimmy Carter put it, 'lusting after women in my heart', but I was raised in one of those 'white, evangelical' homes to which you refer as having 'lost their morals'. I was taught that 'NO' didn't mean no, it meant 'HELL NO!' To my personal credit that evangelical moral upbringing never allowed me to lay an unwelcome hand on anyone and fills me with disgust at those who do.

I'm sure you will find millions of cases of theft which are not reported to police because the amount is too little or the obvious there is no chance of recovering the stolen item. So by your standard that isn't a real theft.
