I have been trying to enlighten myself. And it is increasingly clear that what the US is facing is not one of religion. It is and always has been, one of political and extremist ends. Yes, dawa preaches the end of all opposing religions and those practicing them. It wishes to bring all faiths under one God, one umbrella of faith. And it preaches that all of it's faith should go to almost all means to do so. BUT....it does not say that man here on earth should go to just any means to extract that end. As the extremists would like you to believe to excuse their atrocities on his behalf. Please, if you have the time, for it is a long one, view this interview with one who seems to know both sides. And knows the fate of dawa. This is her story. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

As 55% of the Worlds population all worship the same deity, what's the problem? The pink area's of the map below show where the people live who follow Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). |

It is NOT a problem. And yet it is the problem. Most, including myself, did and do not know how closely some religions whose followers consider themselves to be opposing each other, indeed are not. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

South Park (comedy tv cartoon) once had a plot that assumed all the world had become atheist. The point of that story was that even then, they were divided into two sides, fighting for some stupid reason or another... Indeed, today on this planet the majority of religious people are Abrahamic, and yet they still fight. They fight about who the profit is. And even within the same religion (Islam for example), they can be heavily divided into two halves (Sunni and Shiite). #resist |

Polytheism, or belief in many Gods was not about morals, but appeasement and sacrifice. People thought that if they performed some particular act, the Gods would favor them, and let them win battles, or let their crops grow. When that evolved into monotheism, morals were introduced for the first time. It became less of appeasement, and more of doing what each religious branch determined to be right. That began a time for a very divisive climate in human history. Many millions people were slaughtered as the different factions struggled for superiority. I seem to remember some 400 million died just as a result of Christianity. The human animal has been in its current form about 200,000 years. The development of religions is fairly recent. There is scant information prior to 10,000 years, but most of what is believed today is just a couple thousand years old. I wonder where we will be in a couple of thousand more years, if we still exist. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |
