The popularity of Bernie's movement and Trump's success in the election are not the results of their charisma alone but reflect a major discontent with the status quo.

Include the continuous false allegations from, and dismissed by the people: Ruling Class, their Fraud Media, the Democrat Party, the Alt Left, et al. Which is now, with increasing hysteria, including Trump Jr. Which even CNN admits there was no illegality.

Hopefully, and I have no hope. Those making and parroting these falsehoods. Will eventually understand that personal ethics and morality, are more important than Power or Ideology.

So, CNN is the interpreter and arbiter of the law? Thanks for that tidbit. I'll start watching.

I am anxious to see a complete, unbiased and very thorough investigation of all allegations regarding Russia. It is very important to have confidence in the leadership, and in the unlikely event that confidence has been misplaced to correct the error. I firmly believe the whole Russia sh#tstorm is a red herring used to detract and derail any real progress by Trump's team.

And I also think Putin is laughing himself silly at how gullible and easily duped the Lame Steam Media is and the way we keep beating ourselves up over 'Trumped' up crap.

Rucia, Rucia, Rucia..............

I am anxious to see a complete, unbiased and very thorough investigation of all allegations regarding Russia.

Me too. Including hillary's collusion (and bribary) with Russia, senators McCaskill's, Klobuchar's, Feinstein 's, Reed's, Pelosi's, Susan Rice's and Loretta Lynch's collusion with Russia.

edit:

Unfortunately, as History discloses. The Necessary Resistance to these criminals, should these criminals temporarily succeed. Usually results in a similar destruction of freedoms.

A CONVENTION OF STATES is a final *peaceful* way to re-assert the "rule of law" before things start to get really ugly as history (and present day Venezuela) teaches us time and time again.

+1 on All

In what way is Trump committing treason?

He isn't... no matter what Trump did with Russia, it could not properly be treason. The crime of Treason per se is a wartime crime of collaborating with or giving aid/comfort to an enemy. Russia is a political adversary (only in some ways) but is not an enemy and the U.S. is not at war. The word is commonly misapplied often by those who should know better.

Even with the strongest example of collaboration that has so far occurred, when the Rosenbergs were charged with providing nuclear secrets to the Soviets during the Cold War, they were charged with espionage, not treason. They were executed for it, so it's not as if espionage was a less severe charge.

Uhh... things don't quite work that way...

A 'nominated' VP still needs confirmation (per the 25th Amendment, section 2), by BOTH the US Senate AND the US House (constitutionally the ONLY time they get a confirmation vote on a presidential appointment).

On to 'impeachment'. Impeachment, in and of itself, does NOT remove the President. Two Presidents have been impeached, and both finished out their terms. Andrew Johnson and William J. Clinton.

For a President to be removed from office, it requires Impeachment in the US House (simple majority vote -- 218 votes) AND trial/conviction in the US Senate (2/3rds Super-majority vote -- 67).

These required numbers of votes to remove Trump as President would make it unlikely in the extreme for BOTH the US House and the US Senate to give simple-majority votes to confirm Trump as Vice-President (218 votes in the House, 51 votes in the Senate), even taking party politics into account. After all, a significant number of these required votes needed to confirm Trump would already be on record opposing him during the Impeachment and Trial proceedings.

A much more likely scenario would be something like a Ford/Nixon one:

Prior to finality of Conviction hearings Trump pardons Pence, then resigns. Then Pence pardons Trump. Lacking an impeachment proceeding, it might be a good idea for Trump and Pence to do this on Trump's last full day in office. Avoids jail for both of them.

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power.

Some people don't read or understand the constitution. Remove from office and bar from ever holding any "office of profit or trust" Conviction on impeachment is final and that last bit removes his pension and lifetime SS protection. I bet these same people are calling for a convention of states to modify what they won't read or understand. Not any different than a standard wing-nut politician who f's everything up the founders tried to establish. At least major has read the constitution.
