Happy New Year. What is the name for the leather loop that comes with a leather belt so you can tuck in the loose end? I need to buy replacements separately and cannot figure out the search term(s). Belt keeper. |

You may be wondering (if you even noticed) why I appended " Amelia?" to the thread title yesterday. Mrs. Earhart may or may not have crash landed on Howland Island when she disappeared. That uninhabited bit of land is just slightly west of the also uninhabited Baker Island, both in the Anywhere on Earth time zone, UTC -12. The last post before the end of 2016 at the last place in the world was this one: Message 1839352 - Posted: 1 Jan 2017, 11:57:53 UTC Congrats to Rob Smith on owning the first new TLPTPW thread of the new year. FWIW, the actual farthest west place east of the International Dateline is (again uninhabited) Attu, the last American island in the Aleutian chain. The line makes a zig zag around it to keep it on the same day as the US mainland. Looking strictly at time zone lines, Attu would be UTC -13; however, the official zone in effect is -10 to be the same as the rest of the US Aleutians. As I always do, I ask that the mods keep the thread open until Rob requests it to be locked. PM coming. Thanks Dave. The new thread is open, so I'll be getting this one locked fairly soon. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

on Howland Island when she disappeared. That uninhabited bit of land is just slightly west of the also uninhabited Baker Island To clarify, it is about 8 minutes of longitude to the west. It is also about 37 minutes of latitude north. They are 37 nautical miles apart.
