I don't think elections are rigged, but I do think the voters are manipulated by the press.

From what others have said, you need to tell us which press people you believe are influencing the election.

Newspaper sales are almost non-existent. They have moved to the Web. Many of those are behind paywalls.

Then there are the TV News stations, the most popular being Fox.
Assuming that most of the population that watches these channels is a working person. For the majority their viewing will be in the evening. How many of the evening programs are news and presented by news journalists?

As the most popular of these channels is Fox and Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

Are you saying that these two die-hard Trump supporters are manipulating the voters?

Gerrymandered is perfectly fine as long as it favors democrats.

If Trump takes the white house, the democrats will blame gerrymandering.

Well that would be pretty dumb. As most states operate a winner takes all when it comes to the electoral college, and this is based on total votes cast in the state, gerrymandering does not impact the presidential election to any significant degree. Likewise, gerrymandering does not affect composition of the Senate.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

But as I pointed out are, or were, the evening presenters news reporters. Or are they just program presenters with no news background?

My quick check says that the Fox News ones are not, the other channels seem to indicate they have some news background.

Hannity for one is a major Trump supporter, and his chief TV presenter at this time.

edit] Name one other channel/program that has done live Trump interview in the last month.

FBI reviewing new emails in Clinton probe

(CNN)FBI Director James Comey said Friday the bureau is reviewing new emails related to Hillary Clinton's time as secretary of state, according to a letter sent to eight congressional committee chairmen, a surprise development with 11 days until the election.

This demonstrates that even Comey realizes that he, in effect, tried to throw out the case before the discovery process was complete.

Even the best of lawyers can't cover something like that up.

He is CYAing. He's probably considering bailing as one of hillary's loyal minions and he's probably trying to figure out a way to get out of this without having his law license revoked.

Your "loyal minions" refer to you as "extremely careless" - perhaps we have a different opinion on what loyalty means.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

I'm glad I read some about this before comming to this thread.
You all seem to have missed the jist of the news.

!. The FBI director indicated that the information was found unexpectedly during another unrelated investigation.
2. Nobody requested that he reopen the investigation of Clinton's email.
3. He said the only way he could find out if any of these previously unknown emails contained classified information that should not have been on a public server is to reopen the case he had previously closed.
4. There is no way there will be any resolution announced before the election.

It is my own feeling that: he was not happy with having to close the case by only saying that Clinton was extremely careless.
It was pretty obvious to me and most others that her story continually changed. (My mother used to call that lying.)

I know, it is the jump to conclusion you want crowd that seems to be all riled up. It is also obvious no one has read the e-mails other than to note her name was in the address field. Might be "confirming your appointment to have your teeth cleaned."

Comey wrote:
Of course, we don’t ordinarily tell Congress about ongoing investigations, but here I feel an obligation to do so given that I testified repeatedly in recent months that our investigation was completed. I also think it would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record. At the same time, however, given that we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails, I don’t want to create a misleading impression. In trying to strike that balance, in a brief letter and in the middle of an election season, there is significant risk of being misunderstood, but I wanted you to hear directly from me about it.

This just in.. FBI.. are they on a fishing expedition, or does Comey actually have the goods?

FBI in Internal Feud Over Hillary Clinton Probe
Laptop may contain thousands of messages sent to or from private server

As federal agents prepare to scour roughly 650,000 emails to see how many relate to a prior probe of Hillary Clinton’s email use, the surprise disclosure that investigators were pursuing the potential new evidence lays bare building tensions inside the bureau and the Justice Department over how to investigate the Democratic presidential nominee.

Metadata found on the laptop used by former Rep. Anthony Weiner and his estranged wife Huma Abedin, a close Clinton aide, suggests there may be thousands of emails sent to or from the private server that Mrs. Clinton used while she was secretary of state, according to people familiar with the matter. It will take weeks, at a minimum, to determine whether those messages are work-related from the time Ms. Abedin served with Mrs. Clinton at the State Department; how many are duplicates of emails already reviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and whether they include either classified information or important new evidence in the Clinton email probe.

Doesn't really matter. At this point, for the Good of The Country, Hillary must...

Just one question. Since millions of people have already voted for Hillary. What would happen to their, incuding my wife's and my, votes?

I don't really think she should do that any more than I think Trump should step down because of his own problems.

If Clinton is elected and then convicted for a criminal offense, the country can deal with it at that point.

For The Good of The Country:

Why would she do this to us? Doesn't she care?

I think Clinton does care, and I think she made some mistakes that could very well land her in hot water, but I don't think she deliberately mishandled emails.

Trump is far from perfect, either.
