The post will get moved - at least, you stand a better chance - if the person who wants to initiate the split - Stephen in this case - goes back to the earliest of their own posts that they want moved to the new thread, and uses the red-x reporting feature to draw the attention of the moderators to what they want to happen, and why - explain clearly, please: some moderators are technically skilled, but others are more used to keeping the banter in the Cafe within limits. The red-x procedure is how my Monitoring inconclusive GBT validations ... got populated yesterday, starting with a post I made here on Saturday morning. So it can and will be done, if you ask nicely and give a good reason. |

Grant & all: I just started a new thread: Philosophy: To DeviceQueueOptimize or NOT (with a focus on: is it "micro managing"?) https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=80168 I welcome your reply and hope this time we can come to a conclusion on "micro managing", especially if I'm still not understanding your perspective well. |

I am back for the Wow! event. Unfortunately, I have no budget for the electricity and new hardware (sigh). Zalster and Mr. Kevvy among others will pass me in a month or two. The most recent SOG app is available here |

If everyone feels it would provide more clarity to the discussions, we're happy to help. Just red x the post and give a reason why and where you feel it should be moved. If there's quite a few, please give us extra time to sort through your requests and make the adjustments. ~Gordon The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Shhhhhh, do I see some 2016 tapes from Arecibo, and a few APs that come with them :-) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Looks like the splitters are not keeping up with demand. Perilously low now .... only about 23K left when we usually sit at 500K tasks in the queue. Not sure what's up, there are tapes and channels loaded. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

I was wondering why nobody had panicked yet |

Is the Sever Status page up to date? Current result creation rate 1.0268/s. Certainly not enough to keep up with demand. EDIT- 3 of the PFB splitters that i'm pretty sure are usually running, aren't, and one of the GBT splitters is down. However I would still expect a lot more work coming out the remaining splitters than the present 1/s. Grant Darwin NT |

SSP is up to date. So, it is time to panic. 10+ hours before it's time for work again in Berkeley. Grant Darwin NT |

SSP is up to date. I would say yes .... there's only one AP channel to finish which provides tasks that take some time to finish compared to MB. Will have to work through existing cache of work until 8AM Berkeley time. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

A few more hours until the tyre (tire) kicker in chief gets in to work and tickles the servers toes. Until then we will have to live on the few re-sends Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Thanks goodness we had a nice run of APs, otherwise it would be looking pretty grim right now ... |

Thanks goodness we had a nice run of APs, otherwise it would be looking pretty grim right now ... it's horror : about 30 of the last AP's in my cache had overflow so now I'm stuck with just a couple of CPU units :( |

Thanks goodness we had a nice run of APs, otherwise it would be looking pretty grim right now ... They are not overflows, they are 100% blanked so there's no data to process. The Stderr output will tell you this if you look. ;-) Cheers. |
