My "good place" is encouraging everyone, male or female, to ditch the hair dye!!! My Mom did that after She retired and just like Her two sons, She had no gray hairs, though it was a bit thinner than in previous years.. My Brother and I shared two other traits, hairline of a teenager, thick hair, though thick hair isn't all it's cracked up to be... Mine is getting gray now that I am over the hill. In our family people don't ever get all gray at any time in their lives.... |

Not strictly a critter, but here's a live webcam on the blooming Amorphophallus titanum (Corpse Flower) at the Denver Botanic Gardens. 5 feet tall and stinks like a dead body, but beautiful. https://youtu.be/j_gXWINuPuw "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

Beautiful! And I'm glad that I can't smell it from here. That's a pretty good way to attract fly pollinators though. |

Beautiful! And I'm glad that I can't smell it from here. Wouldn't they be, to borrow My younger Nieces wording, 'stinkerbells'? ;) The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

My "good place" is encouraging everyone, male or female, I've done that, but only because I'm a bit frugal and lazy about the whole thing. I really like the color of my hair when I use "Loreal RB," but it's a "permanent" hair color. For those who don't know, that means the color stays forever, and your roots show if you don't recolor your hair or color the roots every couple of weeks or so. Any time I've ever colored my hair, I've ended up letting the roots grow way out before I bother to recolor my hair. I'm talking about many months of roots - maybe more. I've found a non-permanent color that closely resembles Loreal RB, but I'm afraid. What if I hate it? (I want my dyed red hair to look as natural as possible. Many of the red hair dyes look extremely fake to me.) Again, for those who don't know, non- permanent hair dyes wash out after about a month of shampoos, thus eliminating the root problem. I haven't colored my hair for many years. I do have gray hair, but I have much less than my two brothers (one older, one younger). I attribute this to the fact that I have never had children! ~Sue~ |

My natural color. Photo from 1963, when mom hired a photographer to come to the house and take family photos. Oh how I hated it when mom curled my hair. And here I am in 1981, feeding the exceptionally friendly squirrels in Monterey, California. I'm pretty sure I had colored my hair just before this photo was taken. ~Sue~ |
