Work continues on the replacement PC of mine, does anyone want to see what I've done? The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Ok, remember you said: sure. Ok as soon as I can, I'm replacing that large psu(220mm) with a slightly smaller psu(200mm), of course the power plug is turned at a right angle to this one, so the psu will fit better and the jack is much farther from the edge, the old one is the Silverstone Strider ST1500 Silver, the new one is the EVGA 1600w Platinum, plus the new one has 133A on tap instead of 110A. What will I do with the old one? I don't really know yet, for the moment the Silverstone will power My new PC. This is a $370.19 psu on Amazon(for now), but the current psu(pun not intended) will have to do for the moment, maybe I can stuff some rubber in there to seal out some dust. I figured out how to use 4 video cards of 25-30A each on a Silverstone ST1500 Gold(which is 180mm long, instead of either 200mm or even 220mm), it requires a couple of aftermarket cables, sold by Performance PC's, one is an 8pin EPS12v to an 8pin pcie cable, the other is 8pin pcie Y cable, since this ST1500 Gold has only pcie connector for video on the 1st 12v rail and an extra eps12v connector, I'd just use the extra eps12v connection for a pcie connection. The two 12v rails of this ST1500 each have 70A. 12v rail #2 has 3 connectors, whereas 12v #1 has 1 connector and next to the last Blue connector is 2 EPS12v connectors, only 1 is needed for the cpu. Ok, I did some more work, The outside looks great, inside there is more work to do, before I can reattach the bottom of the 9000B case. I encountered a problem, I can't connect the USB 3.0 cable for the front and have a video card in the last(4th) slot, there is a solution of course. The possible solution would cost Me $29.00 total for a 7mm tall extension cable, I still need to move the fan from one side of the GTX570 cards radiator to the backside so that the radiator can be secured and at a right angle to how I would have preferred to mount the radiator in the case, with the tubes at the back, why? Cause of the position and size of the psu, if I had the cable to mount the psu up forward, the radiator could be under the card with the tubes like I'd like, the stock psu cable for the forward location in My 9000B case is incompatible with the Silverstone ST1500 Silver 1500w psu... I'll see about doing some more later, temps permitting, now it's nice and cool, today temps are predicted to get to 82°F/28°C, the temp now is 68°F/20°C.
