Message 1640727 - Posted: 12 Feb 2015, 16:03:39 UTC

And the weirdness continues. I was running a bit late this morning, so I tossed my frozen breakfast sandwich in my bag instead of nuking and eating it at home. Thus, I forgot to take my meds. I suppose I'll have to go out in the <10F with <0 wind chill to go home for them.

I had pneumonia when I was 3. Never had any of the other childhood diseases, even chickenpox. Still worried about shingles because my grandmother had it on and off for the last dozen or so years she lived. Also now getting worried about measles because I fall in the age range where they're saying the vaccine we would have gotten as children was less than effective. (However, I think the whole measles thing is getting a bit overblown.) Got the pneumonia vaccine a few years ago. Also, with a family history of it, I test positive for tuberculosis, although I've never actually suffered from it.

Ping!
David

If you haven't had chickenpox then you don't have the virus inside you to cause shingles. However; just so you know, if you catch chickenpox as an adult, it is worse than if you got it as a kid. I would recommend getting the varicella, (chickenpox), shot now - and then sometime after age 50, I'd get the shingles shot, too. RE: Measles shot... You can get a booster of the MMR vaccine; I did.

Good morning everyone. :-)

Well David what can one say.....

What one can say, I don't know. What I can say is that now my right arm and shoulder are aching for no apparent reason. Now, what time did I take some Tylenol this morning?...

David, you are showing the same symptoms
as a very close friend of mine showed for
shingles.
Try to get it checked before you start showing
up with the rash!
Now!
