My figure for immigration for the US also came from the DHS but is the figure for legal immigrants that were admitted, not those who tried and were sent back. The same applies to the UK figures, it is the numbers that came in and stayed.

WHY DOES THE REST OF THE WORLD KEEP TRYING TO MOVE HERE?

The leading countries of origin for
those removed were Mexico (72 percent), Guatemala
(11 percent), Honduras (8.3 percent), and El Salvador
(4.8 percent).

Are Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador the rest of the World? :)

According to Fox News they are.

Walk across which border into the UK?

There are some people who have swum across the English Channel. :)
Since the first person managed to swim across the Channel in 1875, only eight people died.

Why this obsession with FOX? Better Than MSNBC. Well, everything is better than MSNBC.

BTW - Much more difficult to Swim The Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Than to Walk across a Border. I believe.

:) :) :)

We aren't subjected to MSNBC in the free world.

He swam away from UK, so would have been emigrant.

Your personal world is free due in large part to many thousands of AMERICANS who gave their lives alongside your countrymen and those of other nations.....TWICE in 20 years!

Don't take that sacrifice lightly, it may not be there when the next crazy despot decides your world would be a nice appetizer.

Don't believe the War Propaganda, regarding NAZI Germany. A significant portion of Americans were not for the 'European War'. It was Japan which attacked us.

This changed after the Liberation of The Slave and Extermination Camps in 1945.

Had you only stuck to the war in the pacific, the map of Europe would not be as it is today, & the USA would have been isolated. you would have more than likely won that war but at a cost too great to even contemplate any further action within Europe.

Perhaps you won't be late to the next one.

Normandy landings: British Second Army 83,115. American First Army ~73,000.
Thanks for your help, but don't fall into the usual trap of thinking America won the battle of Europe.

The question now is this: -

"With the Russia/Ukraine" situation as it stands, will the Yanks prevent it from worsening or escalate it?"

The EU is ineffectual in this as it's down to just 2 men - Obama & Putin.

Mind you, Europeans have been waging war a lot longer than Americans have. I'm pretty sure that when there comes a time when a crazy despot tries to overrun Europe with big armies, we know what to do.

Maybe that's the problem, 1,000 years of 'civilization' and you're still fighting each other.......I'm just saying.........

still fighting each other after 2,000 years of "civilization".

Its more like at least ten or twelve thousand years,
and still going strong....

(I keep seeing clues of civilizations
stretching back way more than 2,000 years.)

You mean 2000 years and no, we are not still fighting each other. Longest period of consecutive peace in Europe since we started recording history is now.

Well now as every one in here knows, I never like to interject
myself in to any international conflicts. I must at this time
point out that what happened to Czechoslovakia in the 1930s is
set to happen again in the east. I say unlike the former occurrence,
a lot of pain can be avoided if the west just gives Mr. Putin
all of the former soviet states plus, oh.... Ireland. That should
hold him off for a while.
Just saying....
