If the US decides to provide weaponry or not to Ukraine will probably not even be recogniced by the Northern countries. One more question, if Putin's land grab were occurring in Finland and Finland was making the request for weapons, what do you feel would be Sweden's response? If the US decides to provide weaponry or not to Ukraine will probably not even be recogniced by the Northern countries. More help and weapons of course. Actually both Sweden and Finland has recently agreed to more cooperate our military forces activites together due to Russian behaviour today. And Estonia, a NATO member, helps us to monitor Russians. Just by simply picking up the phone and tell us if we have missed Russian invasion excercices in the Baltics and flying over Gotland and Öland. |

If the US decides to provide weaponry or not to Ukraine will probably not even be recogniced by the Northern countries. Please forgive me if I'm seeming redundant but I want to understand your reasoning. Allow me to restate the last question as: if Putin's land grab were occurring in Finland and Finland was making the request for weapons from the United States, what do you feel would be Sweden's response? If the US is doing the supplying, who is the 'we' to which you refer? You think Russia makes a distinction between the US and its closest allies? If the US does such a thing, Europe will feel the consequences of it first. |

Am I missing something here? Something that doesn't kill the recipient. Next... Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

If the US decides to provide weaponry or not to Ukraine will probably not even be recogniced by the Northern countries. DG:) I forgot to mention this. Sweden and Finland are planning to ultimately be able to defend our countries together. It is a change of historic proportions since the run-up to World War II and the closest military cooperation between the two countries are now outlined. http://www.dn.se/nyheter/sverige/sverige-och-finland-planerar-for-att-kunna-kriga-tillsammans/ Defence Minister Peter Hultqvist dismisses already possible critical views on cooperation from Vladimir Putin's Russia: "In that case it is their problem. We have a completely defensive agenda. We can not act on what other countries may think. We recognize the realities and changes in our surroundings"' and refers to the annexation of the Crimea, the ongoing war in Ukraine and the pressures exerted against the Baltic States. Government policy about NATO. https://translate.google.se/translate?hl=sv&sl=sv&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.regeringen.se%2Fsb%2Fd%2F2561 A "well kept secret" is that, although Sweden is not a NATO member, Article 5 also would include Sweden if Soviet Union attacked us. But since that Soviet collapsed that agreement is not valid any more. US Ambassador Mark Brzezinski reminded our surprised politicians that, last summer I Think. |

Sweden is a hypocrite. It pays lip service to Nato, but won't join it because it knows it will piss off Russia and Putin. Yet it fully expects to be rescued by Nato and the USA if attacked. If it is populated by bad tempered 60 year olds, I say let Russia have them and the sooner the better! Rubbish talking are not hurting me or any Northerners. Maybe my sister Ann and nephew Matthew both UK Citizens will! Meet Jarmo and Jarmo from Finland:) They all have Sisu and real men. Sauna Club is a program about the tragic feeble Sweden from a barren Finnish perspective. Jarmo is in their sweaty sauna to give his view on the sissy Swedes. He is harder than a Karelian whole weat pirog and his perfection comes from a hard upbringing from "Marmor" - his mother who is also his grandmother. She has brought up his son after his father passed away, and in the Sauna Club, where we meet the young Jarmo and see samples of the upbringing that made him the consummate strong man. We also meet Finland's only psychologist Jukka who works in Sweden and trying to get the whining "Svennar" (Swedish people) to understand that there could be a lot worse. Jarmo's niece, Tarja who have moved to Sweden and operates a Finnish video store and not least Jarmo's old best friend Timo, once a fierce Finnish conscript - now a "Svenneficated" wimp after he met a Swedish girl. |

Referring to the December 1995 'memorandum' not treaty with Ukraine, paragraph 4 states: 4. The Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the United States of America reaffirm their commitment to seek immediate United Nations Security Council action to provide assistance to Ukraine, as a non-nuclear-weapon State party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, if Ukraine should become a victim of[2] an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used. The plain language(if ever there is any in diplomat speak)states the UK and US and RUSSIA will come to the aid of Ukraine ONLY if Nuclear aggression is threatened or accomplished. We nuke them if they nuke Ukraine. Not a palatable scenario. I am surprised that Putin doesn't consider a Nuclear Iran as a threat. Fundamentalist Islamic state ruled by Mullahs, exporting and encouraging Jihad around the world. I'd rather have a Nuclear Ukraine next door if I were Putin. Referring to the December 1995 'memorandum' not treaty with Ukraine, paragraph 4 states: Many Ukrinians are now regretting that they dismantled all their nuclear weapons. Putin often reminds Ukraine about Russias nuclear weapons. One of the least known but most important Russia facts: the nation accounts for half the global stockpile of highly enriched uranium (HEU). Let's say that Putin will use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Not only Ukraine will be affected. Remember this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster |

About non-lethal weapon:) My brother, who used to drive a cab many years ago, had some pepper-spray in his cab just in case. A police officer noted that and my brother was convicted for unlegal possession of a weapon. |

WTH is a non-lethal weapon? This explains much about the US. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

About non-lethal weapon:) A reason the UN small arms treaty will NEVER be ratified by the US congress. The 2nd amendment to the US Constitution is the reason there has never been a SUCCESSFUL invasion of the US. As WWII Japanese Admiral Yamamoto said(educated in US), "an invasion of American soil will find a gun behind every blade of grass". And finally author Robert A Heinline made the comment " A well armed society is a polite society." Works for me. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

This explains much about the US. Supercilious comments say a lot about some British attitudes. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

The 2nd amendment to the US Constitution is the reason there has never been a SUCCESSFUL invasion of the US. Works for me. Sweden also never been SUCCESSFULLY invaded despite it wasn't written in the Swedish Constitution. No war for 200 years. Last time it was Russia trying to invade us but they failed. Come to think about Costa Rica. They have no army at all. |

Come to think about Costa Rica. They have no army at all. Reason? The Monroe Doctrine. And the THOUSANDS of ex-patriot Americans buying homes and retiring there. They feel the US will protect them from invasion. A feeling that may not be correct with the current Administration who prefer to confront evil with a kiss, a hug, and a job................yeah, that'll work..........NOT! :D..g "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

Come to think about Costa Rica. They have no army at all. Have you met people from Costa Rica? I have, sort of. In a 3 hour train trip from Gothenburg to Stockholm 2 passengers from Costa Rica constantly talked with them self. One Swedish passenger became intressed and started to talk to them. I learned a lot from that trip:) |
