*enter beer drinkers under influence of self-hypnosis* I will not drool over beer... oh... *dab at sudden puddles on bar* erm... seem not to have got the hang of it yet. Hello everyone :) Glad we heard back from you Grant :) Hope you're feeling better today than you were yesterday. I am :) ferocious headache mostly gone (YAY :)) Just in time for today's insult though - swapping crutches for a zimmer frame *wait for snorts to die down... then blink* finished are we? *Tilt nose to lofty angle* it's because I'm unstable... *narrow eyes knowingly* I know what you're all thinking... *sniff* Just when I came across this inspired idea too... Oh... *pause for an anniet lightbulb event involving a whole front handle bar type thingy* ... erm... see you later... :) |

swapping crutches for a zimmer frame Good Morning both East and West, Annie it's good to "hear" your posts again. I hadn't heard the term zimmer frame before, in Yankee land it's referred to as a walker(not to be confused with an Imperial Walker from Star Wars). When I was temporarily relegated to one a few months ago I called it my 'Senior' scooter. Grant, keep on healing, beer o'clock will come (for me in four hours with lunch]. This thread brings new meaning to the phrase 'burning the candle at both ends'. :~> :DG "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

*enter beer drinkers under influence of self-hypnosis* I will not drool over beer... oh... *dab at sudden puddles on bar* erm... seem not to have got the hang of it yet. My father had a walker with a tray across the front that he used to move his meals from the kitchen to the other room. It wasn't a very big tray, but I guess it served his purpose. I probably have it in my expensive storage locker that I haven't visited since I moved his scooter into it about three years ago. Zimmer No... he doesn't :) The point - or so they've been telling me *ooze with disbelief* is that crutches limit rehabilitation of the intricacies of hip and ankle movements and just let you fling yourself about in a vaguely forward direction. They clearly haven't seen some of my more innovative moves... but never mind. Also, they allow you to take turns in resting one of your poorly bits at a time, and a zimmer frame makes them all hurt together which is what physiotherapists call progress :) I'm supposed to look at it as an upgrade :)))) which it certainly is if Admiral's picture is anything to go by :) Cheers everyone :) edit: tray! what a good idea! Thanks David :) |
