The hardest part of the task we take on when we decide to share our lives with a companion animal is showing them the final kindness when the time comes. But it is part of the moral contract we take on when decide to take all the love that they offer during their lives with us.

It is never easy, but it is our duty. And that is why we must share all the love we can with them during the time they spend with us.

I have been through it with a few. And I have 3 dear kitties with me now that are aging, so I shall face that choice again in the coming years.

Rest assured, I shall do what is right by them when their time comes.

Rest in Peace, all of our beloved friends who have left us.

We have to push him upstairs; he can do okay, going down. The indignities
of aging, my father used to say.

I had to go down that road twice yesterday.

Latte 11/7/1998 to 2/5/2015 aged 16. He is now with his brothers. His litter mate Ruta is still a spring chicken.

Ziggy went with him, evenso they only barely just tolerated each other.
Summer 2000 to 2/4/2015. Aged 14 yrs

Both are buried next to my bedroom window. Ziggy always brought home gifts and now can play with them again. He also loved Catnip, so we send some of that along.
Latte loved his buscuit and is taking one with him.

A new rescue will arrive here before the end of the month. A pitbull pomeranian mix, age 8 month.

I am sure Ruta will be a good Granny and teach him the good and bad habits.
