The turkey is good for leftovers in a Hot Brown, which is a local invention, named after The Brown Hotel in Louisville, where it originated. It's an open-faced sandwich of sliced white bread toast, covered with shredded turkey, covered with Mornay sauce, tomatoes and parmesan, broiled until a little brown, with a couple strips of crisp bacon added on top before serving. I couldn't find a picture online I was happy with, so I'll just make it myself after T-day, and post my own "authentic" picture. :~)

Sorry to hear Gordon... Because my mom spent more than $25 in other groceries; we got a discount of $0.69/lb for our turkey. So, we got a 16 lb turkey for $11.04. In total then, we spent $36.04 in total groceries; including the turkey. This deal was at our local Safeway store.

If I'd wanted to I could have done the same thing TL, but it would have been at the local Stater Bros Market. Have a Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.
