I don't think that you'll get very far trying to run 3 Einstein tasks on that card TL.

You're asking old hardware to do what it wasn't designed to do.

Cheers.

I'm NOT trying to run three; that was my Default setting when BOINC first made contact with the Project. I'm currently micromanaging the queue by having ALL but one Einstein WU run at a time; until the current queue runs dry. Then the new Einstein queue should pick up the "Work" profile settings and only run one WU at a time. The reason for the Default settings running three at a time are for Exeter; running on my GTX760.

Prometheus will end up only crunching one WU at a time on each of my three projects. I won't knowingly overtax the GTX275.

Thanks again everyone.

Update:

I've been monitoring heat and fan speed on Hardware Monitor and Precision X for the 275. Is 70 to 78 C, (with small peaks of 80 C), normal for this card??? Seems a little high with the peaks that it's getting, to me... The fan speed on it matches the temp one for one... So, at 70 C the fan is at 70%.

On Exeter, the GTX760 is at 54 C and 58% speed crunching three WU's at a time... So, I was just a little concerned about the 275 crunching only one WU at a time.

For air cooled, yeah that's normal, for water cooled that could be called warm... How warm I don't know off hand TL.

Thanks Vic. :-) (Yes, it's stock, air cooled; so's the GTX760.)

They're very warm buggers T.L.,so you can't compare them to the more modern day GPU's.

Cheers.

As a matter of fact T.L., if I was you, as soon as I could I'd swap out that GTX275 for a GTX 750Ti. You'd get much better production while using about 30% of the power. ;-)

Cheers.

That's my plan Wiggo. It's going to take awhile on my income, though.

Prometheus Update:

FINALLY; I'm down to the last Einstein WU that was grabbed in my initial contact with the Project on this computer. I have now set SETI Main and Beta to "Resume"; and eagerly await Prometheus' crunching of SETI Main.

Prometheus grabbed MANY SETI WU's two days ago; however, I had to suspend that work while I was micro-managing the Einstein WU's. Now, I'm caught up; and, no more micro-managing Prometheus.

Beta and Einstein are both set to Resource Share of 0.1; and, SETI Main at 365. So, now SETI Main is priority one.

Thanks everyone.

I have just received my first AP WU's for the GTX275 on Prometheus. BOINC is initially estimating just over 17 Hours to complete an AP v7 7.00 WU with Lunatics 0.43a. (I have actually received three of these at over 17 Hours each.) Is this a very high initial estimate??? Will Prometheus complete the WU's before that time??? What should I be expecting from the GTX275 as a reasonable figure?

If I remember correctly, the GTX 275 is a pretty good cruncher. It shouldn't take anywhere near 17 hours to crunch a single AP. If I remember correctly.

But it doesn't surprise me the initial estimates are high.
