They knew their enemy and introduced them to the guillotine, where the elite came face to face with the masses, albeit briefly.

Oh hardly. The idea that the 'elite' all got beheaded during the French revolution is a bit of a myth. Sure, some of the old elite were beheaded, the king most prominent amongst those. But really, the Terror killed a lot of people, the majority being completely innocent. Well, maybe some of them had a different opinion, but hardly what you can call 'enemies' of anything or anyone.

The Guillotine, gas Chambers, Electricution, Lethal injection are all the same to me.
The Guillotine who was made by a french doctor with great compassion seems to me to be the most 'human'. You are dead in less of in a second compared to the. others. I recall the thread about whale haunting in this forum.

Might know this. Family was living in Paris on a day that Guillotine was famously used on a queen and her severed head was paraded down the street on a pole by the family abode.
That was not a good time. It got worse. A lot worse. The big revisionist gloss overs claimed it was better. They want to ignore the period before order was restored and mob rule was is charge. How much damage happened. Normal eventually returned, but France was never again a world power. That is why there are jokes about the French military, they used to be feared.
If you wish to use some narrow metric and claim it improved and ignore other metrics ......... that's an agenda.

Must be some american disillusion. I live in Europe and I never heard such stories.
About Charles de Gaulle yes, but the french military no.

Any conflict is terrible while people are going it through it. Which is exactly why you don't want things to get to the point where people think it is their only recourse to justice. The French Revolution was a terrible time, but in the end France was a lot better under socialism than it was under imperialism.
I don't understand your assertion that there is some sort of correlation between how much the army is feared and the quality of life in a country. I love France and have spent a lot of time there. They seem to have their priorities right. Reality Internet Personality

And just when did France go to socialism? After or before Waterloo? After the war Franco-Prussian war Or WW1?

Right. So in the recent aftermath of the revolution, they were not socialist and life wasn't easy. Took a lot of time and the rest of the world progressed and overtook France. That is the drawback to periods of turmoil.
Today with 10.2% unemployment, burka bans, shouting gas the jews in the streets and the other silliness, I'm not so sure that it is a lovely place. I'm thinking I'm happy great granddad got my branch of the family out and chased better opportunity in the USA. Although another branch finally did well too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_de_Lattre_de_Tassigny

I hope everybody knows that France was the first republic in the World
That USA 'copied' much of their constitution.
That Benjamin Franklin was an US ambassador in France.
That Gustav III King of Sweden started a revolution a la France and get killed for that in the Opera house.
Vive la France:)

Uhmm what? They did still run over Europe with Napoleon and laid the foundation of much of the things and institutions we still use today. Post revolution France still had a major impact on the rest of the world. And lets not forget that they remained a large colonial power. That only started to fall apart after WW2.
No, France remained a global power after the revolution for at least another 150 years. Though you could argue it started to decline after WW1. And those jokes about French military incompetence stem from their quick surrender in WW2. Although those jokes are only funny for people who havent studied that particular conflict in any significant detail.

Don't forget The Statue of Liberty.
Also, during WWI: Americans said "Lafayette, we are here", telling the French we are helping them, as they helped us during our Revolution against King George.

I don't know what you are trying to say here.
Is it "hate" to not understand what janneseti is saying?
Or, is it hate for janneseti to not understand you (and keep repeating about it, even when asked to stop publicly, via PM and red X's before a certain event happened)?
Or, is none of it hate and for the most part that little box to check is usually a ridiculous misnomer?
Anyway, yes, if you're a native speaker and know anything of the French revolution, it's quite on topic.
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.
