So the cure to moths is raccoons? *makes notes* :) Thanks Es, yeah She's just 9yrs older than I am, She thinks based on Her relatives, that She doesn't have a long time to go. But I'm not counting on that, I'll be lucky if I can find a place, probably not where I want to live at, since so far where I want to live at doesn't have any qualifying houses below $90,000.00, which can't be fixers, or have a pool, that have to be next to a paved road and can't be on a lot that could be subdivided. Where the USDA says I could buy from has to be in a Rural area, not in Hesperia or Victorville or Apple Valley, as those are not considered Rural. But then I don't need any money for a down payment with the USDA RD program(Rural Development), just a credit score of 620+(Mine is higher), closing costs(technically, as some sellers will pay all closing costs), which leaves Moving and Utility deposits(Gas, Water, Trash and Electricity) so there is about $900-$1000 for that and from $0-3000 for closing costs. Once I'm out of here the park can have this place(keys and all), which is what they want and need, but I will be starting to save up in September 2016, after paying My DMV and property taxes here(property taxes here for the last time, one way or another), I'll start to save up the $2,000.00 I can save(that'll take 6-8 months to do, in May or June of 2017 I'll be ready), maybe by then the law will be changed allowing Me to save up more money, the SSA and IRS can look into My bank account, they get to do that in exchange for Me getting an SSI check. If I can't afford a house anywhere, then I'll be stuck here until at least 2022, then I might have a combined check of maybe $1,505.40 a month(maybe), cause then I could file for Social Security, which I don't get now since I'm not 62yrs old yet. I have tried... oh how hard I have tried not to ask. Everything my mama ever taught me about being polite tells me not to ask. I tried biting my tongue, but I didn't care for the taste of blood. I tried to distract myself with tasks - that didn't work. I took a vigorous mental shower - no relief. I even tried sitting on my typing hands, but they just kept creeping, inch by inch, towards the keyboard and now curiosity has simply gotten the better of me. Apologies, friends, but simply I have to know... Vic, if your sister-in-law does pre-decease you, what in the world makes you think she will leave you her house, or even some money, when she has children of her own? |

Angela, I never had that thought in My head, She told Me when She does go that it would be up to Her children if I needed a place to stay at, this would after she passes away, She didn't have room at the time and She thought it would look bad if I rented from Her at the time, Her adult children are My 2 Nieces and a Nephew, I'm very close with all but My Nephew since My Brother passed away and they are very close with Me. I don't expect anything from My Sister in law, except Her being My friend and I Hers. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Bats & Moths It shouldn't be much longer and I'll be seeing the bats dinning on the moths flying under the highway lights out front of a night again. Well I learned something today, I didn't know that there were 2 types of leeches (I only knew of the blood suckers) let alone a carnivorous one that grows up to 50cm/19.7". :-O http://www.dailytech.com/Cool+Science+Video+of+the+Day+Carnivorous+Leech+Eats+Giant+Jungle+Worm/article36731.htm Cheers. |

I now have a possum (or opossum, if you prefer) coming to my house in the evenings eating any dog or cat food that is outside. I've seen it on my front porch and on the deck in the backyard. Does anyone know what happens when a raccoon and a possum want the same dog/cat food? Seriously. What might happen if these two species meet over the food bowl? I'm not seeing my raccoon as regularly or as early as usual, and I wonder if the appearance of the possum has anything to do with that. ~Sue~ |

I now have a possum (or opossum, if you prefer) coming to my house in the Cat vs Possum... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5hJC71GNzk In any case the raccoon seems to be all laid back, but evidently the Possum is an aggressive cuss, as the cat didn't take kindly to being snarled/hissed at by the possum. Embarrassing in the checkout line when the credit card is not accepted? One consolation may be that it can happen to anyone, even United States President. Barack Obama reveals that his card had been rejected at a restaurant in New York, in conjunction with a visit to the UN. http://www.svt.se/nyheter/varlden/obamas-kreditkort-nobbades Nice that everyone are treated the same:) |

Angela is pretty laid back about the content of this thread, but I would like to ask do credit cards have anything to do with raccoons? I think Obama qualifies as a critter and therefor what he does is relevent. :-) |

Angela is pretty laid back about the content of this thread, but I would like to ask do credit cards have anything to do with raccoons? As a child I was on a farm for some summers where they had cows. We had to fetch them from the field on the afternoon to get them milked. The only you had to do was to find Rosa, the cow leader with a bell, and she started to go back home. The others followed here immediately:) |

Angela is pretty laid back about the content of this thread, but I would like to ask do credit cards have anything to do with raccoons? Nothing is off-topic in the Critter Cafe. This is not and never has been a thread about raccoons. This is a place where critter people come together to talk about whatever is on their minds. Of course, since raccoons are frequently on my mind, I am prone to posting things like this: Happy fall!!! |

Oh no!!! A quick search of Google Images has convinced me that raccoons DO have a great deal to do with credit cards: Oh dear. I think my little woodland friends may have a bit of a P.R. problem on their adorably dextrous little hands... |
