I always walk alone, I don't have any IRL friends to walk with. I haven't been able to walk for the last couple of days because of the cartlige pain in my knee. I did however discover that it hurts more sitting still than it does walking. I had to walk to the supermarket and my knee hurt less until I stopped. I may be gaining weight due to this innactivity. Marbooka I hope not.

I know that pain, that's why I try to cycle whenever possible. Not always easy when you live in the hills, and as my son observed when he was about 10, "Dad, is there any way out of this town without going uphill?"

P.S. Did you see the meteor?

With my little pedometer I am clocking up 1 - 1 1/2 miles a day just pottering around the house and the small garden. Amazing how it mounts up. I agree with the girls about walking on ones own, but ya know, sometimes "me time" is important.

I like walking alone, too. My mind is my companion. ;~} I don't have to worry about pacing myself with someone else either.

That is a GREAT picture!! :)

Well done to everyone tenaciously battling those sly calories all over the insides of fridges and cupboards, and increasing the exercise! :) You're all doing so well!

Walking is definitely nice with company - but in the last few years I have come to appreciate walking with just me... and with no one else to worry about... much MUCH more than I used to :) I don't get many opportunities to do it so maybe that's why. Expect I'd feel like you Uli if it became a regular thing though. Do hope your wrist is getting better and that you're not overdoing things.

Julie - you've made me yearn to do the same - see my sister and go for walks with the kids. Think I will have to do it VERY soon. Have fun!! :)

Blurf - I hiccuped once (whilst leaning forward to pick up a cup of coffee) and that was my back trashed for a couple of weeks. You have my sympathy! Hope the pain goes SOOOON!

I am just reading that apparently it was a Soviet rocket that launched a satellite.

Soviet? Don't you mean Russia? The Soviet Union died years ago. Now if it was an old Soviet rocket, then please forgive Me.

I was inside where it was warm though they do say that it was part of a Russian rocket that was launched last Tuesday.

Cheers.

@All - its all about another type of balance! Most people enjoy good company but at times in our busy lives it's just nice to get away on ones own for a little while.

I like solitude. I could be one of those monks that lives up on a hill somewhere, but I wouldn't get much exercise... ;~}

Well, it's a time zone thingy, but I assure you, there are times I have been here when it's been rather dark and quiet.
