I was watching Rachel and All In w/Chris Matthews last night and a segment on both programs dealt with how the conservatives (Tea Party/Republicans), for the last couple of years, all begged President Obama to bring Sgt. Bergdahl home. There even was a segment, I believe it was on Rachel's show, where John McCain, a decorated POW himself who I have lost all respect for since he first ran for president, suggested that President Obama trade some of the Taliban held at Gitmo for him. As soon as the president did exactly what McCain suggested, McCain and the rest of the Tea party/Republicans pounced on him like a pack of rabid wolves. Chris Matthews, as part his show even had a segment from Oliver North on Faux News, you know the guy from Iran-Contra, pounce of the president for doing this. Did anyone take a look at http://www.huffingtonpost.com last night or this morning and see the headlines? And there are people here, I won't name names you know who you are, who still think I'm on the wrong side of things here.

Can you imagine the uproar if the president did not do anything to bring Bergdahl home and he had died? The fake outrage would have been like a Tsunami.

Well, if its a standing tradition and policy that no one gets left behind (which I find a very admirable policy) then it means you cannot set preconditions on who you save. No one gets left behind means no one gets left behind, it does not mean you can leave the people who made a stupid decision behind.

He was AWOL, it has been reported he did this before but didn't get caught. Six men died trying to rescue him but they didn't deserve a thread on this supposed forum.

So why didn't the EU step in when the Indian government stuck those guards from the ship they impounded in the Indian Ocean in prison without a trial?

After all, the majority of them were European.

The way I see it as that no matter what the Yanks do, they end up in a lose/lose situation.

They are not perfect & deserve knocking when it's due. Other than that, I would like to know why other nations & their citizens do that when their own histories are nothing to be proud of!
