Sorry if I offend any of you Yanks here, but having read that article you can't blame people from other countries from believing that your system of politics is 1 of the most corrupt systems in the world and how yous believe that it is democratic is totally beyond me as it just looks like those with the most money get their way and those that don't have any just don't get a say at all. I'll admit that even our system here could be better, but I'll take it any day over what yous have over there. I'll appologise again if I offend anyone, but I really think that yous could do with some massive political reforms over there (another 1 or 3 political parties certainly wouldn't hurt either to break your 2 party system) and actually let everyone participate in an even democratic way. Cheers. |

Wiggo, I am in wholehearted agreement with the statement you made here. ALL of it. https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016. Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power. |

Thank you all as I was nearly positive that I might upset someone with that post as I see things. No Annie, it's not good, because if some drastic political reforms arn't implemented in the near future then it's highly likely the whole system will either collapse in on itself or just become so stagnated that it'll become deadlocked (signs already showing on that point) which will be no good for anyone, politically or financially as I can see it, but it'll be the little people who'll suffer the most in the end. Cheers. |

Our supreme court is now decided by one judge on each case. And currently Roberts and Kennedy take turns with each case. No, its a big set forward in centralising all power and control into the hands of the richest 1% and the corporations. Not people who can in any way be assumed to have your best interests at heart. Our supreme court is now decided by one judge on each case. And currently Roberts and Kennedy take turns with each case. So, you would rather live under a Plutocracy than a Democracy just because you don't like the policies of the incumbent ? Do you not think the aim of any party is to "centralise control" ? (for the time being) Do you think that if the GOP get the gong next time, they will change a system that has obviously benefited them ? What will you do if you don't like the way they run things ? Will you continue to vote for them just because they aren't "liberal" ? Apart from repealing Obamacare, do you think the direction the US is heading will really change that much ? Afterall, Obama (even though he's a "liberal") kept all of Bush Jnr's "security" and "anti terror" legislation (remember who brought you the NSA) in place because it helped to shore up his position. Will a GOP president loosen the strings in the name of "freedom" ? My biggest worry is that 96% of voters are "rusted on" to the party of their choice (48% each way). Therefore elections are decided by the 4% of swinging voters. These are the ones the parties aim their election campaigns at. I would hope that this 4% would be intelligent enough to be bored out of their skulls by the battering of advertising they will be subjected to in the next 7 months and vote independant. I recall that not that long ago, the DEMS were the "conservative" party and the GOP were the "liberals". What will you do if the pendulum swings back the other way ? That REALLY would be interesting. Or were you being sarcastic and I missed it ? T.A. |

Afterall, Obama (even though he's a "liberal") kept all of Bush Jnr's "security" and "anti terror" legislation (remember who brought you the NSA) in place because it helped to shore up his position. Quite note: the NSA was formed under President Truman (D) in 1952. It was given greatly expanded powers in the aftermath of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 by then President George Bush Jr. (R). This is the problem with power. Power corrupts. And absolute power corrupts absolutely. |

I'm at a point in my life where I want to give the liberals everything they want... and then FORCE THEM TO LIVE WITH IT. First you have to elect some actual liberals to government. Reality Internet Personality |

Sorry to disagree with all your comments, but I agree with the foundation of this Ruling. The Randian ideal of one dollar, one vote eh? If you don't touch it, you can't break it. ; |

Will a GOP president loosen the strings in the name of "freedom" ? Obama is by no stretch of the imagination a 'liberal'. By any sane evaluation, ignoring rhetoric, he's a right leaning Reagan Republican. He only LOOKS a little liberal because the Repubs have basically become fascists. The Democrats are now conservatives. The progressive option no longer exists in the USA. If you don't touch it, you can't break it. ; |
