I was professionally taught how to drive by a driving school instructor, I passed the written DMV test(which is one of 3 written tests, you don't know which you'll get, they're just drawn at random) with a score of 99 out of 100, plus I passed My driving test, this was driving My Dad's big 1970-1972 Mercury Marquis Brougham Sedan in the narrow streets of San Pedro CA, all at age 19. I say 1970-1972, since they look alike and its been a long time since then, He liked this model best. Could I pass the HGV test? Probably, though Me traveling there is a bit unlikely to happen. Please if you come here don't drive or at least tell me your coming so i can stop driving My Licences HR Heavy Rigid Vehicle (Semi- trailer) C-24 Over head Gantry Crane 25 Ton Unlimited Low and High reach Fork Lift Front End Loader Backhoe Driving a Heavy vehicle and having the Licence are 2 totally different things I have seen people like that , Fort lift Drivers are the worse . and you can spot them miles away . They don't put the tines full forward so people don't trip over hehehehehehehe |

There of course is an HGV sat nav On a few of the country lanes round here where they meet the main road there are fitted some concrete barriers which are about seven feet apart, they don't inhibit cars and pickups but lorries are physically unable to get onto the lane, seems to work quite well. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

I have no license to drive anything other than a car. Took driver's ed in high school. If I remember correctly, we had to pass the official state written test to get the learner's permit. I don't remember my score on that, but I obviously passed. I also passed the driving test on the first try. Probably not perfectly, but I think I showed the examiner that I was at least aware of what I was doing. Near the end, I turned onto a major road, then asked him what the speed limit was. He said that was the most asked question on the whole test. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Uh, radar? Talking to ground control who has radar. F-16 has air-to-air radar. Cessena 150 should have transponder with altitude reporting and is an all metal aircraft. Both pilots have eyeballs. Just how does this happen? Did everyone happen to look the other way at the same time?! http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_FIGHTER_JET_PLANE_COLLISION?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2015-07-07-18-12-08 MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) -- An F-16 fighter jet smashed into a small plane Tuesday over South Carolina, killing two people and raining down plane parts and debris over a wide swath of marshes and rice fields. Unfortunately, the accident report will read, "Failure to see and avoid" as all midair collision reports do. What will be the contributing factors? |

Worrisome if true Now for road safety: - going to take a long long time before we see sensible drivers if this is anything to go by... & they say women drivers are better... Need for sex cost her life ...I know I've said it takes all sorts to make a world, but... |

Texting? http://mynewsla.com/crime/2015/07/19/motorist-running-red-light-crushed-to-death-against-tanker/ The victim’s body was so badly mangled that authorities could say only that it appeared to be that of a man because of the type of clothing worn. |

Sadly, another reason why I dislike sat-nav's. The problem with technology is that it stops people from thinking. 5 injured - all because Sat-Nav said drive straight on I think it's time that a similar campaign like This be done for use of technology on the road. |

Having seen loads of people ignoring "Give Way" and "STOP" markings at road junctions I wouldn't blame the sat nav but the so called drivers' lack of understanding of the basic rules of the road. Like the young lad this evening on the way home from work, how he didn't see a Land Rover, with its headlights on, less than 10 yards from him when he pulled out from a road end. No sat nav to blame, no "fancy bit" on the passenger seat, just a lack of "Look in the direction traffic will be approaching from" approach to driving. How I missed him, or how good his hearing is, I'm not sure - he had full benefit of my horns at less than a foot from his ears by the time I'd stopped. Good thing the ABS worked, I didn't want to be late home from work. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
