My new administrative assistant smokes

I am with you on this one Carlos, when I smoked I
did not notice my own smell: Now I can't
stand the smell of the stuff, even my friends
and kids don't smoke around us.
Beep!

Ugh. If I spend more than a few minutes around a smoker, even if they aren't smoking at the time, I smell it emanating off my clothes for the rest of the day.

Outta here! Dr. time.

I'm back from Berkeley Honda. Great service, great guys, and I'm friends with the owner.

Winning late at night, listening to the local short-line railroad train going west. Line is about 1/2 mile north of me, used to be able to see the trains from the back yard, now there are houses in the way. Progress?

That's a shame (that you can't see it anymore). What railroad is it?

San Joaquin Valley Railroad, based in Exeter, Ca. Used to be owned by RailAmerica, but I'm not certain that is still the case. I'll continue this in the Trains thread.

Winning on a warm Friday morning.

Yeah, I got to the point that I didn't want to be near an ashtray, once Mom passed away, I tossed all the ashes, ashtrays and cigarettes into a trashbag and that was it, no more cigarette ashes, the smell was awful...

Both my parents smoked for most of their adult lives. I never touched cigarettes, but was a pipe/cigar smoker for 15 years in the Navy. Quit in 1990, but sometimes, when I am around someone smoking a pipe or a good cigar, oh, I wanna, I WANNA...... but my lungs are clear, and I want to keep them that way.

When COPD finally forced Mom to quit in 1997, we scrubbed all the ashtrays and turned them into general small trash receptacles. On those rare ocassions when my brother and his wife visit, they smoke outside on the (covered) patio.

My Brother picked up smoking while in the Navy, He retired as an E9 with Gold Stripes and Hash marks(though He never used them, He just wanted to be one of the guys He said to Me), in 2000 He found out that He needed an Oxygen Tank for Emphysema and that He had a spot of lung cancer, in about mid May 2005 the cancer won and I lost My older and only Brother. :(
