Chris I must tell you that cold
is also called cold in the Colonies.

We know the word autumn too.

However, it is not anything like cold or even chilly in Chicago today. They have upped the predicted high to 96F, which would break the old record of 95. I haven't heard definitely, but we probably also broke the record for the highest low ever recorded on this date, which I believe was 78; it was 79 at O'Hare at 5am.

90 by noon tomorrow, then the storms roll in. They're still saying 68 on Friday.

Looks like we only tied the record high at 95, but we did blow away the record high low: it was 75 and today we only got down to 77.

Still, we've only had 12 90s this year vs. 46 by this time last year.

Chicago firefighters working a house fire on the west side are rotating every 15 minutes.

No, Autumn is chilly!

No, the Fall is chilly!

The mold count in Chicago today was 85,000 PPM. Possibly a new record. 50,000 is the level that triggers an alert.

Had a sprinkle of rain as I left work, but at the same time there was major rain and 2" hail on the south side of town.

My signature says 71 and clear. I'd love to be out chasing trains, but alas I have to work. The forecast this morning said there might be scattered showers in the afternoon.

Mine was 71F and Clear too, 20 minutes ago that is, now it's 73F, still clear for the moment, fall temps are here with only one 100F day(Monday) seen and that is subject to change.

Looks like we are done with that storm track that has hit us for the last 3 weeks, this has been more rain that we have seen in a very long time.

Now I just hope that they will start to clean up the roads around here.

3.4 hours later, my signature says 79 and clear. The Weatherbug a mile away says 78.9 with a dew point of 50. That by itself is worthy of a WOO HOO! Well, maybe not that much, but at least a woo hoo!
