BTW, I'm considering a secondary prize (like Angela did with the "make Eric laugh" prize) for anyone who correctly guesses in advance what the target number is, based on the meager clues I've provided or may yet provide. The only problem is deciding on a prize. I don't feel like making cookies. I suppose we could just do it for the tawdry glory... I think 462 as being very railway-related and in the right sort of range. |

I don't care, I've got lots of time and sometimes it comes My way, besides the bills, rent and food are all paid and the debt I had is gone at last, so now I just need to stay cool and make some sugar free fruit punch and a sandwich... Congrats on the paydown, Vic. |

Oi! no fickle double posts allowed. Rule 27, clause 4, sub clause 3, in the small print at the bottom of paragraph 2. Do pay attention at the back there. Or you will be fondled by the famous fumbling flying fickle finger of fate. [No adumbration against acausal alliteration as yet.] |

How about a gen-u-wine original, one-of-a-kind, Yancey Street No-Prize? Sounds good to me. However, even if someone does post the correct number, I'm not going to acknowledge it until after that post number has been reached. Then I will declare both the conventional winner and the no-prize winner together. 2850? I'd be running this thread for a couple of months if it were that high. Even worse would be the likes of 3751 and 3985. I think 462 as being very railway-related and in the right sort of range. You are in the proper frame of mind, at least. Not correct, but thinking reasonably. Yesterday, I considered changing the target number by a couple dozen. I had a good reason for doing so. However, I decided I should stick to the original number because the new one would have been too close to Vic's recent one, and just because it shouldn't be changed mid-game. And I can still carry out the good reason without changing it. Vic: I hope you have enough gas in the car to get the hell out if you need to. I know you said you're not going to need to, but you never know, you know? David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |
