...and anyway, can't he work on the computer and watch at the same time?

We only have one tv and it happens to be upstairs. My computer is downstairs.

All of these quick-fix solutions are excellent. I will direct Eric to this thread and have him pick one, if he does not have the time on Sunday to spend making full corrections.

Thank you, friends.

While you are at it dear, could you ask yer hubby if there is anything he can do by remote to get the upload server working again?

Well you could suprise him with a brand spanking new super wide screen HDTV downstairs so he could fix your computer and watch the game:)

Unscrew the cable connection to the TV. Attach a note to the cable, zero RAC, zero game. He will get it done before the pregame show is over.

That would not work..........
He'd just watch the game.

I am sorry that things are not working as they should, but Eric's priorities need to be the upcoming NASA site review and his upcoming observing rounds.

I take it that Eric has frozen your RAC by now? As us mere mortals can't stay on a RAC of 4 for 9 days, while the coffers are empty and our ships have been forgotten about. ;-)

It looks like no computers are working for Angela right now. But I am going to guess she is typing on something...

Should it disturb me that all these men are talking about my wife's RAC?

I'd be more worried when other men start offering to fix your wife's RAC.

Too late - we already have....

All we need to do is work out how we can get Eric a few 72hr days and 21 day weeks - he then might just have enough time to sort out Angela's PC (and so sort her RAC)

I really don't know how that is happening. If Eric froze my RAC, he didn't tell me about it. It is possible that Fred did it and that he is just waiting for me to figure it out and thank him. He may have a way of putting some of his own crunching credit into my account. Anyway, whoever is doing this, thank you!

Just an observation: I haven't downloaded any WU for several days, AND my RAC appears to be frozen. (I know this because I hit the update button several times a day :))

Maybe something is on hold with the servers, while Eric and Co. work on other stuff?

Oh! Actually I am rather relieved to hear that I am not getting special treatment and that other people are similarly frozen in time and space.

Eric and I ended up spending a huge chunk of last Sunday at the Emergency Vet with my distraught sister and our scapy little four-legged nephew "Puddy". Puddy is expected to make a full recovery. Maybe Eric will get to my computer this coming Sunday.

The NASA site review is Thursday and Eric actually has to wear a suit and tie to work!!! (Normally he shows up to work dressed like he is there to paint the building.) I will try to get him to let me snap his picture so you all can see him at his handsome, spiffed-up best. Eric has a couple of big grant proposals due in March, but perhaps he will find a little time between projects to look at my machine.

Anyway, thank you again for all of your kind comments and suggestions.

Actually, I see that your RAC is down to 2. The last time I looked it was 4 and had been for over a week.

I believe back when I was mod, the RAC limit was 10 to avoid spamming

BOINC automatically updates average credits every time credit is granted. To handle cases where a host stops doing work, there's also an update_stats program which projects run as a Periodic task, and this project runs it weekly. I think it happens on Tuesday even if the scheduled outage is moved to Wednesday.

Prior to the outage, the Avg. credit column of http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?sort=rpc_time&rev=0&show_all=1&userid=8726937 totaled 4.11, now it's 2.12. Unfortunately the user Avg. credit is calculated separately and is probably about 1.98 now and will drop below 1 next week. Eric Alert!

I see Angela's RAC is down to 1.99. I also see she hasn't posted in several days. Perhaps the answer to her question in the thread title is 2.

I'll send her a PM.

But her husband really needs to do something about her RAC.
