Message 1297154 - Posted: 20 Oct 2012, 12:00:29 UTC - in response to Message 1297146.

My dog was basket case for a day after and I mean REALLY.

My cat wasn't there at that time. She was doing her evening walk...

My kitties have never experienced snow.

Come to Wisconsin in January.
We got beer and cheese to go with that snow.
I do believe it was our dear Angela that first found and posted this song here.......prolly due to Eric's Wisconsin heritage.

I have and the beer and cheese was great but it was a lot colder than 30F, more like - 20F. My brother lives in Min. and went up to see him.

Over here, some fireworks are illegal but most of them can be bought in specialty stores. Quite expensive though. I bought some 2 years ago with New Year. The kids just loved it.

Most states here they are outlawed but fireworks are on a controlled. You have to be a tech in fireworks to shoot them off but I see I think 2 this years went bad even then. One was in southern Cal.

Grace hasn't either, but from what I've read, She's adapted for snow...

Beer, cat piss, and snow.

But, what do I know about cats?

Born in Milwaukee, but moved to California at age 3. Been back a few times at Christmas and in January for weddings and anniversaries. Beer, brats, cheese, and good company are a very good antidote for cold and snow.

Yes. Happy wasn't afraid of the snow but you could see at her reaction she thought it to be something weird. It's beautiful to see a black cat in contrast with the white snow!

Grace being a Maine Coon is well adapted for snow, fur on Her pads and thick flowing fur from nose to tip of the tail, yet She has never seem snow and I haven't seen any since 2008-2009...

Maine Coons, although they are well adapted to being house kitties, have their DNA adapted from the feral cats of the Norweigan.

Some I've read can be as big as 29lbs, now that's a CAT with some real claws... Grace is about 3 years old now, 15lbs might be Her limit, I hope, as She is quite hefty, so much so, that She hurts My elbow joint in My right arm from time to time.

Fortunately Grace doesn't get ticked off, She loves Me too much, when I pick Her up She starts purring...

I can say not all of my 6 dogs go bananas, but nearly 50%. I have terrified dogs scattered around the house on a particularly noisy fireworks session ...

Someone had some fireworks outside the park and the City of Barstow 12 miles away didn't make a lot of noise, Grace was ok, but then there were no high pitched noise makers like in the past...

My dog was so shell shocked you almost needed a putty knife to get it out of the closet. I think next year I'll take him someplace else for the evening. He is 13 now and his ticker might give out. LOL
