Ethics has it's root in mythology, this was before the Commandments. Also an imperfect understanding of God. I find, as do many others mythology to be true accounts. But due to man's attempt to understand God without God's help. Morals, are a direct account of God from God. The Handing down of the Commands. The direct teachings of Christ the Son of God. |

I'm not giving links here but if you look up church-goers by state and firearms deaths by state, there are some interesting similarities. 5 yea old kid's parents take him to church, where they say "Thou shalt not steal." But 5 year old kid wants that toy car. So, he takes it from his fellow 5 year old. Fellow 5 year pounds the crap out of him. First 5 year old kid learns that "Thou shalt not steal" idea is a good one, though later in life may wonder about its sources. Armchair Christians and armchair Atheists, on the other hand, still battle it out, particularly over the Internet. |

Rather than refusal of treatment being the norm of the day, they change the name from manic depression to bipolar, and people are very open about telling you they have it and what different medications are being tried. |

Really, they are different. Nope. No difference. I understand your belief there must be a difference, but belief doesn't make it so. |

I find, as do many others mythology to be true accounts. A given, otherwise you could not believe in God. |

The only difference that could be applied is that morals are a personal thing where ethics are a group policy. As in social group, professional body, company policy etc. |

No, I'm suggesting people don't put dumb offensive sh*t on T-shirts if they don't want to be questioned about it. How about movie violence? Should we outlaw movie violence also? I've seen nothing conclusive enough to allow me to make a decision on this. Have you? Why do you hate Christians so much? When are you going to stop the hate speech? Why do you demand others to tolerate what you say but then become so intolerant of others for what they believe, even though it does not affect you in any way? Its because I'm going to burn in hell isn't it? Are you praying for my soul? The only Christians I particularly dislike right now are the ones from the church across the street because they keep parking in my parking spot to go their stupid church. Oh, and I dislike the ones that molest children and get away with it because they are part of the church. I dislike those that judge others and try to impose their nonsensical view points and wishes on others. I really dislike those that write things on t-shirts that imply the victim is to blame because they weren't 'godly' enough or not worshiping the correct god. Reality Internet Personality |

Then the bleeding heart do-gooders came along and made it so the Jew, the Muslim, the Buddhist and the Atheist didn't have to put up with Nativity scense Paid for by their tax dollars! I assume you don't want the city putting in speakers so the call to prayers from the mosque can be heard everywhere in the city? , and blue laws that prevented them from shopping at Wal Mart 24/7. That wasn't bleeding hearts, that was pure greed and we know which religion's stereotype puts that out front. Then the bleeding heart do-gooders came along to the defense of your transgender friend. Far too much. One who went off meds and did an exorcist routine of projectile vomiting while professing undying love to a person he just met. That one went for an involuntary commitment which I guess eventually turned voluntary. Another couple who have threatened my life and police had to become involved. The latest, simple trespass, about two weeks ago had the paramedics wrap him up like a burrito in a sheet to strap him down and cart him off. If I don't see one every week I'm not looking. Life in the big city. Rather than refusal of treatment being the norm of the day, they change the name from manic depression to bipolar, and people are very open about telling you they have it and what different medications are being tried. They are also the ones who either developed symptoms late or got early treatment so they developed functional skills. The ones who didn't develop functional skills can't hold a job even when they are on treatment so they quickly can't afford their meds and life is easier as a crazy. |

I believe the phrase you are looking for is "holier than thou." Judge not lest ye be judged. It is something that no christian who is a member of an organized religion is capable of doing. |

Is that how YOUR God would respond? With sarcasm? If there is a God, God cried Friday. Furthermore, are you suggesting that legislation is capable of stopping children from praying privately at school? |

Ah, I see how you short quote me to make your point of view the only point to be seen. And you do so to avoid the hard parts of what I have said. You ignore the history to interject just your point of view also. The essence of intellectual dishonesty---and cowardice... In Plato's Parable: The Prisoners in the Cave, we find the same problem that more then a handful of you have here. Look it up... Prisoners of your own minds.... Slavery comes in many, many forms. How does the story end. {smile} |

How is Fox news the news channel of the Repubicans and the NRA going to respond to their owners tweet. ‘‘Terrible news today. When will politicians find courage to ban automatic weapons? As in Oz after similar tragedy,’’ Mr Murdoch said. |

How is Fox news the news channel of the Repubicans and the NRA going to respond to their owners tweet. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=64890&postid=1316285 Fox News has had nothing on the shooting, because they do not sensationalize, and are not part of the media problem raising killers to fame status. P.S.-and Mike Huckabee did NOT just raise the "violent video games" question. |
