It doesn´t have to be german beer. Different beers for different people, some you like, some you don't. I tell you though, I've had a couple of dodgy pints that almost put me off beer for life. Almost though :) But to real ales, yeah they really can be quite different from barrel to barrel and if your not used to them can be quite, erm, different :) Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |

I know you brits love your ales and thats fine by me. Well, as long as there's something for you to drink while out with friends I guess that's all that matters. Oh, and the pub lunch as well :) Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |

I know you brits love your ales and thats fine by me. Totally agree. Yes, i really like having lunch in pubs. Its cheap and fine compared to bavarian restaurants. Had a lovely steak in a pub near tower bridge a few weeks ago. That was yummy. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Now for Julie's bash tonight. Stella Artois is always good for me. Could do with a pint right now. Innkeeper, if you please...... Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Just been down to the off license where there's a sale on. Picked up this little lot for £7. From left, two old favourites, a reliable staple, a wildcard, and one that i have to try because it's advertised by Rik Mayall. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

The New Statesman and Yes (Prime) Minister are without question the two greatest political sitcoms ever made, even though Yes Minister started several years before i was born. What i find intriguing, and slightly worrying, about watching Yes Minister is how little has changed. This is a program that started 32 years ago, and it deals with expenses scandals, press intrusion, banking crises, and any number of other follies which could easily have been lifted from today's headlines. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

The more things change, the more they remain the same..... Reassuriing, isn't it? Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

That's it, cleared up after John's escape bash last night. Didn't have beer last night... A lot of cocktails though. I got up with a splitting headache this morning but it was worth it! I had a great time. I missed the kids though this weekend. They're coming back this evening, I'm glad... rOZZ Music Pictures |

Bombardier is an OK medium strength beer, nothing special though. Just cracked it open and i agree. Drinkable but otherwise indistinct. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Julie, So it was you on the cocktails - one of the koala commented on the amount of ice that was consumed last night. Not only the ice, but also the amount of spirits to go with them. Still he was very glad to have served you, and your party, and to have helped you enjoy it all the more. Time to get the larger, port and sherry out for lunch. Mike will need some sustenance soon and I am sure Chris is looking forwards to a glass of vintage port. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

Yes, that would be rather nice wouldn't it. London Pubs with decent lager and beer are very convivial places, and most of them have reasonably priced food as well. Hmmm i love it. I guess i´m assimilated brit already. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |
