Chris, the Dull complies with the anti-Thumper rull -- if you can say anything nasty, don't say anything at all. His mental processes are such that it takes him a while to gin up the nastiness, hence the sojourns into rational discussion these boards periodically get.

Chris, I think the Dullster is particularly troubled by me:

My wife and I have worked hard for over 30 years, developing and using marketable skills.

My wife and I have carefully lived within our means during that time, accumulating over time a comfortable level of wealth.

We have not divorced, nor gone 'new bigger house with new debt every 5 or 10 years, we don't exchange cars for newer more expensive ones every 3 years (more like 7 or 8).

We believe in the concept of community and social justice.

This set of beliefs and actions is absolutely anathema to the Dullster -- hense his anger directed at me.

My sense is that his view of wealth accumulation is something a 'day trader' view, that the only legitimate wealth is earned via various get rich quick schemes. When that doesn't work, he probably needs some one to blame. When it does work, I suspect he advocates the 'spend it while you have it' modality so popular with many Americans. As to his personal life -- I've no information there, but his online anger might flow into his relationships. Lastly we know his view of community and social justice is limited to his 'me'ness'.

It is what it is. When the Dullster slings at me (as when ID did in the past), it seems that I've been complimented by the exchange demonstrating the contrast.
