You have run into the CUDA sleep bug where when the monitor goes to sleep it also puts the GPU to sleep.

Best bet is upgrade to the just released 301.42

"Running High Priority" have nothing to do with your computer's errors on CUDA tasks.
("Running High Priority" is Not the cause of the errors, it is consequence of the long running tasks.
The cause for errors is the NVIDIA driver 296.10)

You are victim of the "sleep bug" in the NVIDIA driver 296.10

Most probably the 296.10 driver sleep bug...

Either downgrade drivers to 280 series
or
Upgrade to 300 series
or
Set your monitor to never go to sleep & turn it off manually. (You could start with this one on, say, your 550ti to see if it helps... before you go changing your drivers)

The "High Priority" is just a side-effect of the extra-long crunch times.

Edit: As you can see from the replies, it's a common problem:)

Thanks Alex,Arkayn and Bilbg I`ve upgraded my drivers to 301.42. I will see if that helps.
I will be purchasing a 680 very shortly and replace my 55ti into another machine. Possibly remove my gts 250 or the 260 in the other machines. Thank you for your replies.

For your hosts running Boinc 7.0.25, Be aware that Boinc 7.0.25 has a High Priority Bug, upgrade to Boinc 7.0.27 or 7.0.28 for the fix,

Preliminary Change Log 7.0.26 --> 7.0.27:

• client: fix bug that caused a project's jobs to all be run EDF if the project has the <dont_use_dcf> flag set.

Download links are in the BOINC 7 Change Log and news thread on the Boinc Forum.

That applies only to seti beta and iirc one other unfortunate project. (Milkyway)

Anyway 7.0.25 is full of bugs and upgrading to 7.0.28 is advisable in any case even if that's officially Alpha. IMO .25 shouldn't have gone to recommended.

Gundolf,

Thank you very much for that link,.It was invaluable and helped me fix another computer that had a bad Boinc manager......thank YOU!!!!

It`s too bad that link can`t be a permanant fixture to the Seti@Home main page..it would solve a lot of problems for a lot of people.

There does seem to be a wave of people lately, myself included that are getting high priority tasks...

(Also see several users lately complaining about not being assigned CPU work for about a week (since the big outage it seems))

A few weeks ago, I updated all 3 rigs and a LT to BOINC 7.0.25, but haven't
seen much High Priority, only when I stopped BOINC, (too hot) and
restarted them around 24:00 h (UTC+2).
(Switched off 1 C2Q6600+GTS250 and 1 C2D+ ATI 5770, cause of the heat wave and
moving into a much smaller appartment!)

Also didn't have faulty results, just a little trouble gettin my I7-2600 +2x ATI 5870 cruncher to work with OpenCL. Works OK for now, unless problems reappear, I'll use 7.0.25. If 7.0.27 appears to be better, I'll UPdate.

My `puter seems to have made it beyond the high priority wave that hit me and she is leveling out. I did get a few errors off of them but not nearly as much as before I upgraded the nvidia driver. MY RAC seems to be rising again that`s a good sign.........my imac has been chugging away with no problems....I`m keeping my fingers crosse dthat the tsunami of HP tasks are done with.

Not getting or not asking? If it's not asking go to Seti prefs and uncheck the "Use nVidia GPU" option. Update Seti in Boinc Manager and that should get you CPU work instantly. Don't forget to go back and re-check "Use GPU". Obviously this is just a workaround...

It was asking just not getting any, it would consistently tell me the project had no work for them. I used Fred's rescheduler and moved some work to the cpu. Once those reported it filled up with 600+. No clue why it just stuck but it's going fine now. Thanks for the suggestion.
