I shall miss the original airing of the debates, due to a work day nearly 12 hours long. Don't worry, Dull, it's real work, even if you do not understand this. Don't worry, Mitt, I'm in the 53%.

the 10 million account include folks like me that will never go back to WoW. The accounts are impossible to completely delete, they simply become "inactive".

I wrote: There are about 10 million active subscriptions to World of Warcraft I would like to take offense about your comments on the contents of the game being geared to 14 year olds, but I suppose you're entitled to your opinions - however, our like or dislike for the game wasn't the topic of discussion. I do not buy into the idea that out of the 10 million active accounts, the majority of them are 18 or under. In my mind, it doesn't matter that World of Warcraft was mentioned specifically. What is important is the allegation that gamers aren't mature at all, and regardless of our affinity for a particular game, all gamers should come together to speak out against such false claims.

I would estimate on that particular game, the majority are under 18, or at leasts have that mentality.. and the developers CATER to the 14ish category.

I would estimate on that particular game, the majority are under 18, or at leasts have that mentality.. and the developers CATER to the 14ish category. Then I would like to challenge you on this claim. Perhaps what you perceive at the "under 18" mentality is simply people expressing/abusing their rights to free speech as it happens everywhere else on the internet and even moreso in games. I think there's a decent mix of players in WoW, with the majority being well over 20 years of age. Again.. what constitutes an ACTIVE subscription? I had a lifetime account (that is still there) that is not used. Still payed for, but as far as I know still "active" in their records. That said.. it is a dead/unused account which still may show "active". Blizzard states that any account which has paid their monthly subscription is considered an "active" account. Therefore any account that has not paid a monthly subscription is an inactive account. People who pay for an entire year at a time but have quit paying are still considered active accounts. All account data is retained and therefore all accounts are "lifetime accounts". These are not counted in the active/inactive subscriptions. I also know many have multiple accounts. Even if it is a violation of ToS, it still happens regularly. Agreed. I have a friend who used to "multi-box" with up to four accounts. There's no easy way to tell how many accounts are multiples of the same physical person. Even so, the active subscriber argument is hardly what should be highlighted in this discussion. I suspect the motivation for arguing about active subscriptions is borne out of a personal bias against the game and an attempt to hope/show that the game is losing people due to what detractors believe are bad decisions made by Blizzard, which is a rationalization of our bias (I look for the same confirmation bias in the likes of Wal-Mart's quarterly reports). Again, this really shouldn't be part of the discussion, IMO. Regardless of whether or not we like the game, I think gamers need to stick together and fight such non-sense as what Sirius B brought to our attention. I did agree what game or IF one games should not be a factor for public office. Agreed.

again a lifetime account is "paid for" for eternally. So I could very well still be under their active subscribers. I could come back without additional cost at any time with the expansions I had purchased being the limit. That is IF I had any inclination to do so. And yes I think Blizzard has made some really bad decisions, let the griefers run wild, and in general seem to not care at all about a mature player base. More mature people can enjoy the game, but it is not geared FOR us.
