What are shakers? Epileptics!

Christian religous sect, who value equality of the sexes. Probably best known for there furniture which is plain and functional but of exellent quality.

That's not a bad thing, equality of the sexes, it's not just shakers of course.

Pretty way out thinking for the middle of the 18th century.

It's also an idea from France too and from around that time, specifically the French Revolution.

I have a problem when applying pi to the crust on pies - the former is a constant, and latter is a time dependant function, reducing to zero...

I find that the LATTICE is a time dependent function, reducing to zero my time to fuss with OTHER desserts!

is that the british version of Quakers?

Amish, Mennonite, Quaker, subtle differences that I can not explain fully. But any can make some darn good pies.

I seem to recall that the Shakers advocated total abstinence, and then mysteriously died out.

And so the mystery of the non-constant-constant (pie-pi) is wrapped up in pastry for all to consume (but only if Eric doesn't get there first)
