Well someone is lucky then, as My 590 couldn't get a thing and it has about 6 hours of beans till empty... I take that back, as a minute or so later I got 31, go figure... The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I have stopped micro managing my computers. I run them now 50% Main, and 50% Beta (stock of course on Beta), and they'll get what they get. I guess even a trivial amount of math can get a brain kickstarted, 'cause I just had an epiphany. Subconsciously I arbitrarily assumed that Beta WU are "test" WU. But reading Sten's post I realize I had no basis whatsoever to make that assumption! So which is it, are Beta WU recycled WU or are they new & valid science? |

IIRC beta uses old work from the main project. Damn. I may be wrong, but I do not think the project use the results from Beta WU's, for the science of Seti@home. However it's science anyhow IMO, the science of testing new applications to run the real science on. No, I think what you meant to say is: However it's science anyhow IMO, the science of testing new applications, that spawn stock applications, that the Raistmers and the Jason Gs of setiworld turn into applications to run the real science on! Or as they say in intertnetspeak, "There I fixed it":) |

I wouldn't call it old work from the Main project, as the work is freshly split especially for Beta, most probably from a Dataset already done by the Main project, and there have been hints in the past that Seti Beta work is assimilated into the science database, Claggy |

Think you've all answered my question re no GPU work. Murphy's law is surely that as soon as GPU work starts to flow I'll get another week-long PrimeGrid World Record unit or 6... |

What's up with all these parentheses (eses'e'ses')()? http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=7878041 (Alex Storey)(Alex Storey)()() Haven't noticed that before... Edit: Dave, that's a wicked number of posts you got there:) (This joke will self destruct after Dave's next post) |

What's up with all these parentheses (eses'e'ses')()? Probably some debugging while making changes to the code for the page. I do that all the time when it's not working and I have to check if the variables are correct. |

Nothing unusual going on here, just the usual bouncing on/off the limits still. Cheers. |

Will having 7.0.18 make a difference to how easily I get GPU work? |
