I thought that part of the globe is used to earthquakes and in earthquake terms 3.9 isn't exactly a big one?

At least the server closet stood it. Rattling hard drives with low frequency oscillations might have had consequences.

A magnitude four is just enough shaking to be able to feel it I think.

I live about 60 or so miles from Berkeley. I was outside at the time, waiting for a ride. I didn't feel a thing.

I am sure, that the SSL is up to current Earthquake standards.

Chatting with someone in Haywood California and she felt another earthquake. This was about 10 minutes ago (8:20 PST)

Probably an aftershock If It's on the same fault, interesting though.

Rock and roll baby!!!

The first quake was centered quite close to my job site and I felt it for sure! Eric worked from home this afternoon and he did not notice the first one, but our home is 40 minutes out of Berkeley and quite frankly when Eric is busy writing grant proposals he doesn't notice much - overflowing laundry hampers, stacks of dirty dishes, cat boxes in need of changing, his wife parading around in unmentionables, you know... that sort of thing.

I was riding our public train system (BART) home from work during the second quake. I was in a transfer station in Oakland when the second quake occurred. I did not notice it. I probably wrote off anything I felt to the rumble of a BART train. Nevertheless, whenever there is a quake on the BART line there are huge delays because they have to make sure all the tracks are still intact. Not a good day for me to be taking public transit, it would seem. Eric felt the second quake in our home. Apparently a few things came off of shelves in a spare bedroom today, but in our home one can never be sure if that is due to earthquakes or to rambunctious cats.

What makes you think I was the one doing the fishing?
