Did you hear about the power outage at the University of Nebraska library?

Forty students were stuck on the escalator for three hours.

This is fun! Anyone keeping score?

I'm afraid Mr. Crow is beating us in the quality department, but I agree that this has been fun!

He's probably the only one who can pommel US consistently in the pun war department, Mr. Crow's better than I am.

Heck, Vic, I'm barely better than nothing, I just get lucky now and then. I consider you an equal in the pun, and all other arenas, my friend!

It's not the raccoon in the fight, it's the fight in the raccoon.... (or badger)

I just hope come October 1 that I'm still scaring crows and not eating it!

Crow all by itself is a lousy meal. Try adding some good Wisconsin cheese and bratwurst, and a pint (or 3) of beer to wash it down.

(Born in Milwaukee, raised in California dairy country - I'm a cheesehead 6 ways from Sunday)

I was born in California, but I'm an adopted Cheesehead, the packers are anchored for good and won't leave, unlike so many other teams that had called LA home...

Oh and I'll buy California Cheese, Hey It might be cheaper or not, but California Cows need My help and when I can I do buy some, just not in October, as there's no room for cheese in the Oct food budget right now.

LOL dear! It is possible, however, that there are readers of this thread who are not huge fans of the very Halloweenish movie "Heathers". (If you love sick and disturbed high school revenge movies, watch "Heathers" - you are in for a treat!!!)

Anyway, for those not in the know, the Heather with the blue tongue really loves corn nuts and she has just been poisoned. Her last words before crashing into a glass coffee table are "Corn Nuts!"

It's that time of year again. Angela has started to name the orb weavers in our back yard. We have Orbie 6, and Roy Orbie-son. It's not easy living with the Queen of Halloween.

It seems fairly harmless, plus It's only once a Year, hopefully no one flips their lid at this, cackling their way into the sunset...

I thought one of the better movies in the high school revenge genre was Carrie.
Or Christine...
Both are King adaptations.

I just finished doing a little gardening and I'm delighted to report that we have far more orb weavers about this year than I could possibly name. I'm afraid "Roy" was a poorly chosen name though. As is common in the spidey community, female orb weavers tend to eat their mates rather quickly after the er... um... uh... exchange of genetic material. Roy is most certainly female.

In our neck of the words this time of year, female orb weavers spin large and luxurious webs and then they just hang there getting bigger and bigger and bigger from consuming anything that might stumble into their webs... moths, flies, raccoons, small children.

Ok, ok - just kidding about those last two. When Obie 6 and Roy Orbie-son get a little bigger, I'll try to snap a photo or two. Their webs look particularly nice when they are wet with dew. In the meanwhile, I found this drawing that I think is particularly nice.

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

Carrie, what a film. A good example of what to do when a woman gives you "that" look. Run, and for crying out loud don't stop running :).
