Under "Processor Usage" and "Newtwork Usage" under "Computer Preferences" I have specifically noted that they are to be used betwee 0:00 and 6:00. However, it is now 8:54 and it is still crunching with time remaining 3hr 35 minustes 46 seconds. If this continues, I will disconect all association with SETI. Enjoy life, this is not a rehearsal |

Did you set the preferences online or locally? Are you running "based on preferences" (Activity menu)? Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) SETI@home classic workunits 3,758 SETI@home classic CPU time 66,520 hours |

And is boinctray.exe running when you check in Windows Task Manager->Processes? Boinctray.exe is the idle checking program under Windows Vista and 7. If it doesn't run, BOINC won't follow preferences. It won't start when you upgrade BOINC and don't restart the machine. It will only start at Windows start. It's also better to upgrade to 6.12.33 first as that version has several bug fixes over 6.12.26. Then remember that boinctray.exe doesn't start at a BOINC upgrade, so after you're done with installing BOINC 6.12.33, navigate to your BOINC Programs directory (default at C:\Program Files\BOINC) and (double-)click on boinctray.exe to start it. It won't show in any way that it started, UAC won't ask for permission. Check in Windows Task Manager that it started. If then it has started and you're allowing BOINC to run based on preferences, and you're using the correct preferences (local prefs override web-prefs), then it should work. Then you get something like this: 14/07/2011 07:00:00 | | Suspending computation - time of day Cool, huh? :-) |
