How can I turn off the BOINC screensaver? I am using VERSION 6.12.26(x64). Enjoy life, this is not a rehearsal |

you should be able to do that through your PC display settings or you could just reinstall BOINC and when it comes to the section where you can choose advanced options you uncheck the "use the BOINC screensaver" In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

I have also "preferenced" that the Seti system be used between 0:00 to 6"00am. That's not happening. Enjoy life, this is not a rehearsal |

Are you using a local preference or the online preference? |

Do you have selected "Run based on preferences" in the Activity menu? Gruß, Gundolf |

I see you're running Windows 7. This OS has extra security measures which make idle detection more difficult to follow than it was under XP and previous Windows. In order to be able to figure out whether or not you're wriggling your mouse or tapping your keyboard, BOINC uses a little program called boinctray.exe There is a problem with this program, that it's only started from the registry, so only after a system reboot. It won't be started by BOINC or by the installer, so when you install BOINC, it's not running at the end of the install. However, on a clean installation of BOINC you need to restart anyway to allow Windows to finalize making the accounts & groups, so then boinctray.exe is started. However when you upgrade BOINC, the Uninstaller will unload it from memory and delete it from disk, then the Installer will rewrite it to disk but not start it. You will have to reboot the system, or (easier) navigate to C:\Program Files\BOINC\ and (double)click on boinctray.exe, then check in Windows Task Manager->Processes that it's running. It won't show in any way that it's running, other than through Windows Task Manager. When boinctray.exe runs, you'll find that preferences will be followed (my system runs only between 9pm and 7am on the same preferences) without a problem. |

You are running optimised applications, which AFAIK don't have a graphics part. Gruß, Gundolf |

What kind of videocard do you have and did you install he correct drivers for that one? If you're still using the Windows supplied drivers, try drivers from the videocard's manufacturer. |

And what do you expect to see when you are running optimised applications? They don't have a screensaver integrated. Gruß, Gundolf |

Once again: optimised applications don't have a screensaver. |
